Charging guide

Charging
your Fisker.

Fisker currently has one model available in the UK, the Ocean, a large fully electric SUV with a 106.5kWh battery. The Ocean uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging, so it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. There are no Type 1 models and no plug-in hybrids in the Fisker range.

The Ocean has an 11kW three-phase onboard AC charger. How quickly it charges at home depends on whether your property has a single-phase or three-phase supply. Pick your model below for exact charge times and a recommended cable, or read the guidance underneath.

What charging cable does a Fisker need?

The Fisker Ocean uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and public charge points. Go up to 7m or 10m if you park on the street or your wallbox is mounted at a distance from where the car sits.

The Ocean has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. Most UK homes run on a single-phase supply, which limits AC charging to 7.4kW regardless of the cable's rating. On a single-phase home a 7.4kW cable delivers the maximum available speed. A 22kW cable only earns its extra cost if you have a three-phase supply at home or regularly use 22kW public AC charge points, where the Ocean will draw its full 11kW.

In short, a single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the right choice for most Fisker Ocean owners charging at home. The large 106.5kWh battery means overnight charging is the norm even at 7.4kW, so getting the supply right matters more than buying a larger cable.

What charging cable does a Fisker Ocean need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, 5m for most driveways. The Ocean has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase UK home supply it charges at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable delivers the full home speed. A 22kW cable only helps on a three-phase supply or at a 22kW public AC charge point.

Does the Fisker Ocean use a Type 1 or Type 2 cable?+

Type 2. The Fisker Ocean uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging in the UK, so it takes a standard Type 2 to Type 2 cable. No adapter or Type 1 cable is needed.

Can a Fisker Ocean charge at 22kW?+

No. The Ocean has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so 11kW is the maximum AC rate it can ever reach, and only on a three-phase supply. On a standard single-phase UK home it charges at 7.4kW. A 22kW cable will never deliver more than 11kW to this car.

How long does it take to charge a Fisker Ocean at home?+

At 7.4kW on a single-phase home wallbox, a full charge from empty on the 106.5kWh battery takes around 14 to 15 hours. In practice most owners top up rather than charge from empty, so overnight charging keeps the car ready day to day. On a three-phase supply at 11kW, a full charge takes around 10 hours.

What length cable do I need for a Fisker Ocean?+

5m suits most home driveways and public AC charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m if you park on the street, share a wallbox, or your charger sits some distance from where the car parks. Longer cables are heavier and cost more, so buy only what you need.
