Charging
your Jaguar.
Jaguar's current EV line-up consists of one model: the I-Pace, a battery electric SUV with a 90kWh battery. The I-Pace uses a Type 2 inlet, so it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging.
The I-Pace charges at a maximum of 7kW AC on a single phase and does not have a three-phase onboard charger, which keeps the cable choice straightforward. A standard 7.4kW cable is more than sufficient. Pick your model below for its charge times, or read the guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Jaguar need?
The Jaguar I-Pace uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and wallboxes; step up to 7m or 10m for on-street parking or a wallbox set further from where you park. The I-Pace does not need a Type 1 cable.
The I-Pace has no three-phase onboard charger and charges at a maximum of 7kW AC on a single phase. A standard 7.4kW cable is already more than the car can use, so there is no reason to buy a 22kW cable. The extra rating would add cost with no benefit for AC charging the I-Pace.
With its 90kWh battery, the I-Pace takes roughly 13 hours to charge from empty on a 7kW wallbox, so an overnight home charge is the typical pattern. A single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the right choice for the Jaguar I-Pace.

Contact usWhat charging cable does a Jaguar I-Pace need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The I-Pace uses a Type 2 inlet and charges at up to 7kW AC on a single phase. A standard 7.4kW cable is more than sufficient, and there is no benefit to buying a 22kW cable, as the I-Pace has no three-phase onboard charger.
Does the Jaguar I-Pace use a Type 1 or Type 2 cable?+−
Type 2. The I-Pace uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging, so it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable at home and public charge points. A Type 1 cable is not compatible with the I-Pace.
Can a Jaguar I-Pace charge at 22kW?+−
No. The I-Pace charges at a maximum of 7kW on AC, on a single phase. There is no three-phase onboard charger, so a 22kW cable offers no benefit. A 7.4kW Type 2 cable is already more than the car can draw on AC.
How long does it take to charge a Jaguar I-Pace?+−
On a 7kW wallbox, the I-Pace's 90kWh battery takes roughly 13 hours from empty to full, so overnight home charging is the standard approach. The I-Pace also supports DC rapid charging at up to 100kW for faster sessions when needed.
What length cable do I need for a Jaguar I-Pace?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. Choose 7m or 10m if you park on-street, share a charge point, or your wallbox is positioned well away from the car. Buy the shortest length that reaches comfortably, as longer cables cost more and are heavier to handle.
