Charging guide
Charging
your Micro.
Micro currently offers one model in the UK: the Microlino, a compact city BEV with a 10.5kWh battery and a Type 2 inlet. It takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging.
The Microlino charges at just 2.2kW on AC, which is quite a bit lower than most home wallboxes can supply, so the cable choice is straightforward. Pick your model below for its exact charging times and recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Micro need?
The Microlino charges through a Type 2 inlet, so the lead you need is a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. A 5m length suits most driveways and wallboxes; go for 7m or 10m for on-street parking or a charge point set well back from where you park.
The Microlino's onboard charger is rated at just 2.2kW on a single phase. This means a standard 7.4kW cable is already far more than the car can draw, and there is absolutely no benefit in buying a higher-rated cable. Even a 7.4kW cable will only ever deliver 2.2kW to the Microlino, because the car's own charger is the limiting factor.
Given the small 10.5kWh battery and the 2.2kW charge rate, a full charge from empty takes around 4 to 5 hours, which is very manageable overnight. A 3-pin granny charger will also work if you have no wallbox. In short, any Type 2 cable is more than adequate for the Microlino.

Contact usWhat inlet does the Micro Microlino use?+−
The Microlino uses a Type 2 inlet, the standard connector for European EVs. You need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable to charge it at home from a wallbox or at a public AC charge point.
What charging cable does a Micro Microlino need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Microlino charges at just 2.2kW on AC, so any standard Type 2 cable will do the job. A 7.4kW cable is more than the car can draw; the onboard charger is the bottleneck at 2.2kW regardless of the cable you use.
Can the Microlino use a 22kW cable or fast charger?+−
No. The Microlino's onboard AC charger is rated at 2.2kW and it has no DC fast charging capability. It charges at 2.2kW only, regardless of the cable or charge point rating. A 22kW cable would not increase the charge speed.
How long does the Microlino take to charge?+−
From a standard Type 2 wallbox at 2.2kW, the Microlino's 10.5kWh battery takes roughly 4 to 5 hours to charge from empty. The small battery size makes overnight charging very practical, and a 3-pin granny charger is also a usable option.
What length cable do I need for my Micro Microlino?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m if you park on the street, share a charger, or your wallbox is positioned far from the car's charging port. Buy the shortest length that reaches comfortably, as longer cables cost more and are heavier to coil.
