Charge speeds
Across the Abarth range.
Every Abarth here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. AC charging tops out at 11kW across the range. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.
Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.
Charging guide
Charging
your Abarth.
Abarth's electric range in the UK currently covers two models: the 500e hot hatchback and the 600e. Both are fully electric BEVs, and both use a Type 2 inlet, so they both take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. No Abarth uses a Type 1 inlet.
Both the 500e and 600e share an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so the charging speed you get at home depends on what supply your property has. Pick your model below to see its exact charge times and recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Abarth need?
Both Abarth EVs use a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length is right for most home driveways and public charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m if you park on the street or your wallbox sits some distance from where the car is parked.
The 500e and 600e both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. Most UK homes are single-phase, which limits AC charging to 7.4kW regardless of the cable you use. On a single-phase home, a 7.4kW cable already delivers the maximum available speed. A 22kW cable only earns its extra cost if you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC charge points, where either Abarth will draw its full 11kW.
In short, a single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable suits both models in the Abarth electric range for everyday home charging.

Contact usDo all Abarth EVs use a Type 2 charging cable?+−
Yes. Both the Abarth 500e and 600e use a Type 2 inlet and take a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for AC charging. There are no Type 1 models in the Abarth electric range, and no plug-in hybrids, so the cable choice is straightforward.
What charging cable does an Abarth 500e need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The 500e has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase UK home it charges at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable delivers the full home speed. A 22kW cable only helps if you have a three-phase supply or use 22kW public AC points.
What cable does the Abarth 600e need?+−
The same as the 500e: a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The 600e also has an 11kW three-phase charger and is limited to 7.4kW on a single-phase UK home supply. A 7.4kW cable is the practical choice for most owners. Its larger 54kWh battery takes longer to fill than the 500e, but the cable specification is identical.
Can an Abarth charge at 22kW?+−
No. Both Abarth EVs have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so 11kW is the maximum AC rate either can ever reach, and only on a three-phase supply. On a standard single-phase UK home they charge at 7.4kW. A 22kW cable will never deliver more than 11kW to either car.
What length cable do I need for my Abarth?+−
5m covers most home driveways and public charge points. Go up to 7m or 10m if you park on the street or need extra reach at a shared or distant charger. Longer cables are bulkier to store and cost more, so choose only the length you actually need.
