Audi A6 e-hybrid
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your A6 e-hybrid+−
The Audi A6 e-hybrid has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.
Which Audi A6 e-hybrid versions does it fit?+
This cable fits every Audi A6 e-hybrid, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:
- Audi A6 e-hybrid Quattro Sport
- Audi A6 e-hybrid Quattro 270 kW
- Audi A6 e-hybrid Quattro S Line
- Audi A6 e-hybrid Quattro Edition 1
- Audi A6 e-hybrid Quattro Launch Edition
Whichever A6 e-hybrid trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

Note: New-gen PHEV (Saloon/Avant/Allroad e-hybrid quattro 299 & 367PS). 25.9kWh gross (20.7 usable); AC 11kW; no DC. Distinct from old A6 55 TFSIe.
How long does it take?
Charging
the Audi A6 e-hybrid.
The Audi A6 e-hybrid is the new-generation C9 plug-in hybrid executive saloon and estate, replacing the older A6 TFSIe from 2025 onwards. Available as Saloon, Avant, and Allroad quattro e-hybrid with up to 367PS, it carries a substantially larger 25.9kWh gross battery than its predecessor (around 20.7kWh usable). The car uses a Type 2 inlet, and you will need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC charge points.
There is no DC rapid charging on the A6 e-hybrid: it charges on AC only at up to 11kW across three phases. Most UK homes have a single-phase supply, which limits home wallbox charging to 7.4kW. The bigger battery compared to the old TFSIe means more electric-only range, but it also takes proportionally longer to charge at the same AC rate.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the A6 e-hybrid need?
The A6 e-hybrid's onboard charger accepts up to 11kW on three phases, a step up from the older A6 TFSIe. For most UK owners, though, a single-phase home supply caps any wallbox at 7.4kW, and a 7.4kW Type 2 cable delivers the maximum available home-charging speed. It is the sensible first choice for the majority of drivers.
Where the 11kW capability becomes real is at three-phase public AC charge points, which are found at some car parks and destinations. At those locations a three-phase cable lets the A6 e-hybrid draw its full 11kW, cutting a complete charge from roughly 2.75 hours to around 2 hours. A 22kW cable is unnecessary as the car's charger cannot exceed 11kW under any circumstances.
What does it cost to charge?
Charging the roughly 20.7kWh usable battery from empty costs roughly £1.50 at an off-peak rate of around 7.5p per kWh, and around £5.50 at a standard rate of around 27p per kWh. The larger battery makes the most of an overnight charge or an off-peak session to cover daily mileage electrically. Check current tariff rates, as energy prices change.

Audi A6 e-hybrid FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What charging cable does the Audi A6 e-hybrid need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC charge points. The A6 e-hybrid charges at up to 11kW on three phases and has no DC rapid charging port. A 7.4kW cable gives the full speed at a standard UK home wallbox; a three-phase cable helps at 11kW public AC posts.
How does the Audi A6 e-hybrid differ from the A6 TFSIe for charging?+−
The A6 e-hybrid has a much bigger battery (roughly 20.7kWh usable vs 14.1kWh) and a faster onboard AC charger (11kW three-phase vs 7.4kW single-phase). Both cars use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, but the e-hybrid charges quicker on three-phase supplies and offers more electric-only range per charge.
How long does the Audi A6 e-hybrid take to charge at home?+−
On a standard 7.4kW single-phase home wallbox, the roughly 20.7kWh usable battery takes around 3 hours from empty. On a three-phase 11kW wallbox that reduces to around 2 hours. There is no DC rapid charging option on this model.
Can the Audi A6 e-hybrid charge at 22kW?+−
No. The onboard charger tops out at 11kW on three phases. A 22kW supply cannot push more than 11kW into the car, and on a typical single-phase UK home connection the rate is capped at 7.4kW. A 22kW cable offers no advantage over a standard 7.4kW lead for this model.
