Audi Q3 e-hybrid
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your Q3 e-hybrid+−
The Audi Q3 e-hybrid has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.
Which Audi Q3 e-hybrid versions does it fit?+
This cable fits every Audi Q3 e-hybrid, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:
- Audi Q3 e-hybrid Sport
- Audi Q3 e-hybrid S Line
- Audi Q3 e-hybrid Edition 1
- Audi Q3 e-hybrid Launch Edition
Whichever Q3 e-hybrid trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Audi Q3 e-hybrid.
The Audi Q3 e-hybrid is the third-generation Q3 PHEV, on sale in the UK from 2025 in SUV and Sportback body styles. It is a significant step up from the older Q3 TFSIe: the battery grows to 25.7kWh gross (roughly 19.7kWh usable), which delivers meaningful all-electric range for daily use, and the onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW on three phases rather than the previous model's 3.6kW single-phase unit.
Charging the Q3 e-hybrid uses a Type 2 inlet for AC, and there is a CCS port for DC rapid charging at up to 50kW. For home wallboxes and public AC points, the cable you carry is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. At a 50kW rapid charger the tethered CCS cable at the station does the work; you do not need to buy a DC cable.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the Q3 e-hybrid need?
The Q3 e-hybrid can charge at up to 11kW, but that requires a three-phase supply and a cable rated for three-phase current. Almost all UK homes have a single-phase supply, which caps charging at 7.4kW regardless of what cable you plug in. For the majority of owners, a 7.4kW Type 2 lead is the practical choice and will deliver the full speed your home connection allows.
If you have access to a three-phase home supply or regularly charge at 22kW public AC stations, a three-phase-rated cable (commonly sold as 22kW) will let the Q3 e-hybrid pull its full 11kW. On a standard single-phase wallbox the bigger cable makes no difference whatsoever to charge speed. Given that the usable battery is under 20kWh, even at 7.4kW a full charge takes well under 3 hours, so the speed difference rarely matters for most users.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling around 19.7kWh usable from empty costs roughly £1.50 on an off-peak EV tariff at around 7.5p per kWh, or around £5 at a standard rate of around 27p per kWh. That makes home overnight charging very cheap relative to the petrol engine, and with 11kW AC available on a three-phase supply you can top up in under 2 hours. Check current tariff rates before budgeting.

Audi Q3 e-hybrid FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What charging cable does the Audi Q3 e-hybrid need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC points. The Q3 e-hybrid has a Type 2 AC inlet rated at 11kW on three phases, and a CCS port for DC rapid charging up to 50kW. For DC rapid charging you use the station's own tethered cable. For AC, a 7.4kW Type 2 lead is the right choice for most UK home supplies.
Can the Audi Q3 e-hybrid charge at 22kW?+−
No. The onboard AC charger tops out at 11kW on three phases. A 22kW-rated cable does not change that ceiling. On a single-phase UK home supply the maximum drops further to 7.4kW. A 22kW cable is only worth considering if you regularly use 22kW three-phase public AC chargers, where the Q3 e-hybrid will accept its 11kW limit.
How long does the Audi Q3 e-hybrid take to charge at home?+−
With roughly 19.7kWh usable, a full charge from empty takes around 2.5 to 3 hours on a 7.4kW home wallbox. On a three-phase 11kW supply that drops to under 2 hours. DC rapid charging at 50kW can take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 28 minutes. Overnight home charging easily covers any daily usage.
What length cable do I need for the Audi Q3 e-hybrid?+−
A 5m Type 2 to Type 2 lead suits most driveways and is straightforward to stow in the boot. If your wallbox is positioned away from your usual parking spot, or you sometimes charge at the far end of a public bay, a 7m cable adds useful reach without becoming unwieldy.
