Why this fits your Deepal S07+

The Changan Deepal S07 has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Changan Deepal S07.

The Changan Deepal S07 is a first-generation full-size electric SUV arriving in the UK from 2025. It pairs an 80kWh NMC battery with a 160kW single motor, and charges through a Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS port for DC rapid charging. At home and at public AC points you use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. DC rapid charging at up to 93kW uses the charger's own tethered cable.

The S07's onboard AC charger accepts up to 11kW on three phases. Given the 80kWh battery, a full charge from empty takes around seven to eight hours on a three-phase supply, or closer to eleven hours on the single-phase home wallboxes most UK drivers have. The DC rapid charging rate is more moderate than some rivals at 93kW, with a 10 to 80 percent charge taking around 49 minutes.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Deepal S07 need?

With an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, the S07 can charge faster than a single-phase supply allows. Most UK homes are single-phase, capping home charging at 7.4kW. For owners in that situation, a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is entirely sufficient for home use and covers the majority of public AC destinations as well.

If you have a three-phase supply at home or you regularly stop at 22kW public AC charge points, a 22kW three-phase cable lets the S07 draw its full 11kW. On a single-phase connection both cable ratings perform identically, so upgrading only makes sense if your charging locations support it. A 5m cable covers most home setups; if your wallbox is set back from where you park, a 7m lead offers extra reach without unnecessary bulk.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 80kWh battery from empty costs around £6 on an off-peak EV tariff of roughly 7.5p per kWh, and around £21 to £22 at a standard rate of around 27p per kWh. The S07 is well suited to overnight home charging, which keeps running costs low. Public rapid charging is considerably more expensive per kWh, so planning routes around free or cheaper AC charging where possible helps. Always check current tariff rates before estimating your costs.

Contact us
What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What charging cable does the Changan Deepal S07 need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC charge points. DC rapid charging via the CCS port uses the rapid charger's tethered cable, not one you supply. A 5m Type 2 to Type 2 lead is a practical choice for most home and public AC setups.

Can the Changan Deepal S07 charge at 22kW?+

No. The S07's onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW on three phases. A 22kW cable will not increase charging speed beyond what the car accepts. On a standard single-phase home supply, the ceiling is 7.4kW regardless of cable rating.

How long does the Changan Deepal S07 take to charge at home?+

On a 7.4kW single-phase home wallbox the 80kWh battery takes around eleven hours from empty, fitting within an overnight charge. On an 11kW three-phase supply it drops to around seven to eight hours. DC rapid charging at up to 93kW is substantially faster and uses the charger's own cable.

How fast does the Changan Deepal S07 rapid charge?+

The S07 supports DC rapid charging at up to 93kW through its CCS port, with a 10 to 80 percent charge taking around 49 minutes at a compatible charger. Actual speed depends on charger capacity, battery condition, and state of charge. The charger's own tethered cable is used for DC sessions.
