Charge speeds
Across the Changan range.
Every Changan here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. AC charging tops out at 11kW across the range. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.
Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.
| Model | Connector | Battery | Max AC | Cable to buy |

| Deepal S05 | Type 2 | 68.8 kWh | 11 kW | Type 2 · 7.4 kW (22 kW on 3-phase) |
| Deepal S07 | Type 2 | 80 kWh | 11 kW | Type 2 · 7.4 kW (22 kW on 3-phase) |
Charging guide
Charging
your Changan.
Changan has entered the UK market through its Deepal sub-brand, with two pure electric SUVs: the Deepal S05 and Deepal S07. Both models use a Type 2 inlet, the same standard connector found on virtually every UK home wallbox and public AC charge point, so one cable covers the entire Changan lineup.
Both Deepal models have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so the AC charging speed you get at home depends on your supply. On a standard single-phase UK home the car charges at 7.4kW; on a three-phase supply or at a 22kW public AC point it will accept the full 11kW. Pick your model below for its exact times and recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Changan need?
Both Changan Deepal models use a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and wallboxes; choose 7m or 10m for on-street parking or when the socket sits some distance from the charging port.
The Deepal S05 and Deepal S07 both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. Almost all UK homes run on a single phase, which caps AC charging at 7.4kW regardless of the cable. A 7.4kW cable gives the full speed your home supply can deliver. A 22kW cable is only worth buying if you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC points, where both models will pull up to 11kW.
Because neither model exceeds 11kW on AC, a single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable covers both Deepal models for home charging and suits most public AC points too.

Contact usDo all Changan models use a Type 2 charging cable?+−
Yes. Both Changan Deepal models sold in the UK, the Deepal S05 and Deepal S07, use a Type 2 inlet. They both take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging, and neither requires a Type 1 cable.
What charging cable does a Changan Deepal S05 or S07 need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, 5m for most driveways. Both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase UK home they charge at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable covers the full speed available at home. A 22kW cable only adds value on a three-phase supply or at a 22kW public AC point.
Can a Changan Deepal charge at 22kW on AC?+−
No. Both Deepal models top out at 11kW on AC, and only achieve that on a three-phase supply. On a standard single-phase UK home supply both models charge at 7.4kW. A 22kW cable would deliver no more than 11kW to these cars.
Do the Deepal S05 and S07 need different cables?+−
No. Both use the same Type 2 inlet and the same 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable works for both. The choice comes down to cable length based on where you charge, not the model.
What length charging cable do I need for my Changan Deepal?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. Go for 7m or 10m if you park on the street, share a charger with another vehicle, or your wallbox is positioned some distance from the charging port. Choose the shortest length that comfortably reaches to keep the cable easy to handle and store.
