Cupra Terramar eHybrid
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your Terramar eHybrid+−
The Cupra Terramar eHybrid has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Cupra Terramar eHybrid.
The Cupra Terramar eHybrid is a first-generation plug-in hybrid SUV launched in 2024, combining a petrol engine with a 25.8kWh battery pack. Of that gross capacity, around 19.7kWh is usable for electric driving. The Terramar connects to AC charge points via a Type 2 inlet, and can also take rapid DC power at up to 50kW via a CCS port for quicker top-ups away from home.
For home charging and public AC points, you use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable that you bring yourself. The car's onboard AC charger supports up to 11kW on three phases. In practice, the majority of UK homes are single-phase, which caps charging at 7.4kW regardless of the cable rating, but the Terramar's relatively compact battery still charges quickly at that speed.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the Terramar eHybrid need?
The Terramar eHybrid's onboard AC charger accepts up to 11kW on a three-phase supply. For the many UK owners on a standard single-phase home supply, charging is capped at 7.4kW, and a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the right pick: it delivers everything your driveway can offer, costs less, and is perfectly suited to topping up a 19.7kWh usable battery overnight or between trips.
A 22kW-rated cable only makes a practical difference if you have a three-phase supply at home or you regularly charge at 22kW public AC stations. At those points the Terramar will pull its full 11kW. On a single-phase setup, a 22kW cable charges at the same 7.4kW as a cheaper one, so buy it for future flexibility rather than speed today.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the usable 19.7kWh from empty costs roughly £1.50 on an off-peak EV tariff at around 7.5p per kWh, and around £5 at a standard rate of around 27p per kWh. Because the Terramar is a PHEV, most owners top up frequently for short electric stints rather than waiting for empty, so daily charging costs are typically low. Check current tariff rates, as they change.

Cupra Terramar eHybrid FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What charging cable does the Cupra Terramar eHybrid need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC points. A 5m length covers most driveways. For a single-phase home a 7.4kW cable is sufficient, as the Terramar's usable battery of around 19.7kWh charges comfortably overnight at that rate.
Can the Cupra Terramar eHybrid charge at 22kW?+−
Its onboard AC charger supports up to 11kW on three phases, so it cannot draw 22kW on AC. On a three-phase supply it will reach 11kW; on the single-phase supply found in most UK homes it charges at 7.4kW. A 22kW cable adds no speed benefit on a standard home supply.
How long does the Cupra Terramar eHybrid take to charge at home?+−
On a 7.4kW wallbox, the usable 19.7kWh battery fills from empty in roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, making a top-up between trips very practical. On a standard 3-pin socket it takes around 7 to 8 hours, which is slow but workable overnight for a PHEV.
Does the Cupra Terramar eHybrid support rapid DC charging?+−
Yes. The Terramar eHybrid has a CCS port alongside its Type 2 AC inlet and supports rapid DC charging at up to 50kW. Rapid DC chargers use their own tethered cable, so you do not need to buy one. For home and public AC use, a Type 2 to Type 2 cable is what you need.
