Charging guide
Charging
your Dacia.
Dacia currently offers one electric model in the UK: the Spring, a compact city car with a 27kWh battery. The Spring uses a Type 2 inlet, so it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging.
The Spring charges at 6.6kW on a single phase and does not have a three-phase onboard charger, so there is no benefit to buying a more powerful cable. A standard 7.4kW Type 2 cable is more than sufficient. Pick your model below for its charge times, or read the guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Dacia need?
The Dacia Spring uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and public charge points; 7m is useful if your wallbox sits further from where you park. The Spring does not need a Type 1 cable.
The Spring charges at 6.6kW AC on a single phase and has no three-phase onboard charger. A standard 7.4kW cable is already more than the car can draw, so there is no reason to buy a 22kW cable. The 22kW rating would add cost with no practical benefit for the Spring.
With its 27kWh battery, the Spring charges from empty to full in around 4 to 5 hours on a 6.6kW wallbox, making it well suited to an overnight home charge. A single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the right choice for the Dacia Spring.

Contact usWhat charging cable does a Dacia Spring need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Spring uses a Type 2 inlet and charges at 6.6kW AC on a single phase. A standard 7.4kW cable is more than sufficient, and there is no benefit to buying a 22kW cable, as the Spring has no three-phase onboard charger.
Does the Dacia Spring use a Type 1 or Type 2 cable?+−
Type 2. The Spring uses a Type 2 inlet, so it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. A Type 1 cable is not compatible with the Spring.
Can a Dacia Spring charge at 22kW?+−
No. The Spring charges at a maximum of 6.6kW on AC, on a single phase. There is no three-phase onboard charger, so a 22kW cable would offer no benefit. A standard 7.4kW Type 2 cable is all you need.
How long does it take to charge a Dacia Spring?+−
On a 6.6kW wallbox, the Spring's 27kWh battery charges from empty in around 4 to 5 hours, so an overnight home charge comfortably fills it. The Spring also supports DC rapid charging at up to 30kW for a faster top-up when needed.
What length cable do I need for a Dacia Spring?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. If your wallbox is further from the street or you park in an awkward spot, a 7m cable gives useful extra reach. The Spring is a compact city car, so the charging port is easy to reach in most situations.
