Charging guide

Charging
your Iveco.

The Iveco eDaily is the only electric model in the UK Iveco range. It is a heavy-duty electric van with a Type 2 inlet, so it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home depot and public AC charging. What makes the eDaily different from most commercial EVs is its 22kW three-phase onboard charger, one of the highest AC charging rates available in any electric vehicle.

Because the eDaily can genuinely draw 22kW on AC, the cable choice matters more here than for most vehicles. A 22kW three-phase supply is uncommon in domestic settings but is more common at commercial depots, which is where the eDaily is typically charged. Pick your model below to see charge times and the recommended cable, or read the guidance underneath.

What charging cable does a Iveco need?

The Iveco eDaily uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most depot wallboxes and public charge points; consider 7m or 10m if the charge point is positioned away from the van or you need to reach the inlet around the vehicle.

Unlike most electric cars, the eDaily has a 22kW three-phase onboard charger. This means it can genuinely take advantage of a 22kW three-phase supply, charging its 111kWh battery in around 5 hours at full 22kW. If you are charging at a commercial depot with a three-phase supply, a 22kW rated cable is worth specifying to get the full charge speed.

Most UK homes and many smaller business premises are single-phase, which limits AC charging to 7.4kW regardless of the cable. On a single-phase supply the eDaily charges at 7.4kW, adding roughly 7.4kWh per hour. For fleet operators using purpose-built EV charging infrastructure with three-phase supplies, a 22kW cable unlocks the eDaily's full AC charging capability and significantly reduces turnaround time.

What type of charging cable does the Iveco eDaily need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The eDaily uses a standard Type 2 inlet, the same connector found on most electric vans and cars in the UK. No Type 1 cable is needed.

Can the Iveco eDaily really charge at 22kW on AC?+

Yes. The eDaily has a 22kW three-phase onboard charger, one of the highest AC rates of any electric vehicle. To achieve 22kW, you need both a 22kW rated cable and a three-phase supply or 22kW public AC point. On a single-phase supply it is limited to 7.4kW.

Do I need a 22kW cable for an Iveco eDaily?+

It depends on your charging setup. If you charge at a three-phase commercial depot or 22kW public AC point, a 22kW cable unlocks the van's full charge speed. If you only have a single-phase supply, a 7.4kW cable delivers the maximum speed that supply can provide and a 22kW cable brings no extra benefit at that site.

How long does it take to charge an Iveco eDaily?+

At 22kW on a three-phase supply, the 111kWh battery charges from empty in around 5 hours. On a single-phase 7.4kW supply the same charge takes roughly 15 hours. The eDaily also supports DC charging up to 80kW, which is typically faster for opportunistic top-ups during the day.

What length cable do I need for the Iveco eDaily?+

5m suits most depot wallboxes and commercial charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m if the charge point is some distance from the van or you need to reach around the vehicle's bodywork. For fleet use, a 7m cable often gives more flexibility when lining up multiple vans.
