Why this fits your Avenger+

The Jeep Avenger has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

Which Jeep Avenger versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Jeep Avenger, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Jeep Avenger Summit
  • Jeep Avenger Skyview
  • Jeep Avenger Altitude
  • Jeep Avenger Longitude
  • Jeep Avenger 1ST Edition
  • Jeep Avenger 85TH Anniversary

Whichever Avenger trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Jeep Avenger.

The Jeep Avenger is Jeep's first dedicated battery-electric vehicle for the UK, launched in 2023 on the Stellantis e-CMP platform. It is a compact SUV with genuine Jeep character, available across a wide range of trims from Longitude through to Summit and the 85th Anniversary edition. The battery is a 54kWh pack with around 51kWh usable, and DC rapid charging peaks at 100kW. The car uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging and a CCS port for DC; when you plug into a wallbox or public AC charger the cable you supply is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.

Onboard AC charging capacity varies across the Avenger trim range. Most trims support 11kW on three phases, but some configurations are limited to 7.4kW single-phase, so it is worth checking the spec sheet for your particular trim before buying a cable. At a standard UK home supply the single-phase cap of 7.4kW applies regardless, so for most owners the trim difference has no practical impact at home. DC rapid charging is done via the charger's own tethered cable.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Avenger need?

For most Avenger owners on a standard single-phase home supply, a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the practical answer. It delivers the maximum speed the home supply can offer, and on the 54kWh pack that means a charge from near-empty to full in under eight hours overnight. Whether your trim has the 7.4kW or 11kW onboard charger makes no difference at a single-phase wallbox: the supply limits both to 7.4kW.

If you have a three-phase supply at home, or you use 22kW AC chargers at work or a car park, and your Avenger trim supports 11kW, then a 22kW rated cable is the one to buy. At an 11kW three-phase charger it will cut charge time noticeably compared with a 7.4kW cable. On single-phase the two cables charge identically, so there is no point paying extra unless the three-phase use case applies to you.

What does it cost to charge?

A full charge on the 54kWh battery costs around £4 on an off-peak EV tariff of roughly 7.5p per kWh, and around £15 at a standard rate of roughly 27p per kWh. Those are reasonable numbers for a compact SUV, and the Avenger suits the routine of topping up overnight rather than relying on public charging. Public rapid sessions cost considerably more, often 45p to 80p per kWh, and are best saved for longer trips. Check current tariff rates before planning your charging budget.

What charging cable does the Jeep Avenger need?+

The Jeep Avenger has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.

Can the Jeep Avenger charge at 22kW?+

Yes, the Jeep Avenger has a three-phase onboard charger, so with a 22kW cable and a three-phase supply it can charge at up to 11kW.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Jeep Avenger need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for wallboxes and public AC chargers. On a standard single-phase home supply a 7.4kW cable gives the full available speed. If you have a three-phase supply and your Avenger trim has the 11kW onboard charger, a 22kW cable lets you take advantage of that speed at a three-phase charger.

Does the Jeep Avenger support 11kW AC charging?+

Most UK Avenger trims have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, though some lower trims are fitted with a 7.4kW single-phase unit. Either way, a standard UK home supply is single-phase, which caps the charge rate at 7.4kW at home. You only reach 11kW with a three-phase supply and a 22kW rated cable.

How long does the Jeep Avenger take to charge at home?+

On a 7.4kW wallbox the Avenger's 54kWh battery takes around seven to eight hours from empty, which fits into a standard overnight charge. On a three-pin household socket the same charge takes roughly 22 hours, making a wallbox or at least a dedicated EV charger worth fitting if you own the car long-term.

What length cable suits the Jeep Avenger?+

A 5m cable works for most driveways and is the most common choice. If your parking spot is further from the wallbox than average, or you tend to park with a long gap between the socket and the car, a 7m cable is more practical. The Avenger is a compact SUV so it does not demand a particularly long lead by default.
