Why this fits your Musso EV+

The KGM Musso EV has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?

Charging
the KGM Musso EV.

The KGM Musso EV is a fully electric pickup truck based on the Torres EVX platform, available in the UK from 2025. It carries an 81.1kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and is offered in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations. Charging uses a Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS port for DC, and when plugging in at home or at public AC points you use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable.

The Musso EV's onboard AC charger supports up to 11kW on three phases. That figure is above the 7.4kW cap of a typical single-phase UK home supply, so most owners charging at home will see 7.4kW. On a three-phase supply or a public 22kW AC point, the car can use its full 11kW rate. For rapid public charging the car accepts up to 144kW on DC, reaching 10 to 80 per cent in around 33 minutes, through the charger's own tethered cable.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Musso EV need?

With an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, the Musso EV can genuinely benefit from a three-phase cable at the right location. At home on a single-phase supply, any cable delivers a maximum of 7.4kW, so a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the sensible starting point for most owners and costs less than a three-phase equivalent.

A 22kW three-phase cable earns its price if you have access to a three-phase supply at home (uncommon in UK homes but more common on farms, commercial premises, and some industrial estates) or if you regularly use 22kW public AC points. In that case the Musso EV will draw its full 11kW. On a single-phase setup, the extra rating changes nothing. A 5m cable covers most standard parking positions, but a pickup this size may benefit from a 7m lead depending on where your wallbox sits.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 81.1kWh battery from empty on an off-peak tariff of around 7.5p per kWh costs roughly £6. At a standard rate of around 27p per kWh the same fill costs around £22. As a working pickup used day to day, overnight charging on an EV tariff is the most cost-effective routine. Public DC rapid charging is considerably more expensive per kWh and better kept for longer trips. Check current tariffs, as rates change.

Contact us
Can the KGM Musso EV charge at 22kW?+

Yes, the KGM Musso EV has a three-phase onboard charger, so with a 22kW cable and a three-phase supply it can charge at up to 11kW.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What charging cable does the KGM Musso EV need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC points. The Musso EV's onboard AC charger supports up to 11kW on three phases, so a 22kW three-phase cable is the right choice if you have a three-phase supply or use 22kW public points. For single-phase home charging a 7.4kW cable delivers the full 7.4kW available.

Does the KGM Musso EV charge at 11kW at home?+

Only if you have a three-phase supply. Most UK homes are single-phase, which caps AC charging at 7.4kW regardless of cable or charger rating. On a three-phase supply or a 22kW public AC point, the Musso EV will charge at its rated 11kW, cutting charge time noticeably compared with a single-phase home setup.

How long does the KGM Musso EV take to charge at home?+

On a single-phase 7.4kW home wallbox, the 81.1kWh battery takes around 11 to 12 hours from empty to full. On a three-phase supply at 11kW, that drops to around 7.5 to 8 hours. For most owners an overnight charge from a good wallbox is the practical answer, and the LFP chemistry handles regular deep cycles well.

What length cable do I need for the KGM Musso EV?+

A 5m cable suits many driveways, but the Musso is a long pickup, and if your wallbox is set back or positioned to the side of your usual parking spot a 7m or 10m lead removes any stretching. Measure from your wallbox to where the inlet typically sits when you park before choosing a length.
