Why this fits your Urus SE+

The Lamborghini Urus SE has a Type 2 inlet and a single-phase 7.2kW onboard charger. A 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. The 22kW option only helps if your next car charges faster.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Lamborghini Urus SE.

The Lamborghini Urus SE is the plug-in hybrid version of Lamborghini's high-performance SUV, introduced as a facelift model from 2024. It combines a twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with an electric motor and a 25.9kWh battery, offering a meaningful electric-only range alongside its supercar performance credentials. The charging inlet is Type 2, so home and public AC charging uses a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. There is no DC rapid charging on this model.

The Urus SE's onboard AC charger accepts up to 7.2kW on a single phase. With a 25.9kWh battery that is a genuine overnight charge rather than the quick top-up of many PHEVs. The car does not support DC rapid charging, so all charging goes through the onboard AC charger and 7.2kW is the absolute maximum, regardless of the speed of the charger you connect to.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Urus SE need?

The Urus SE's 7.2kW single-phase onboard charger is matched closely by a standard 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable, which delivers the full AC speed the car can accept. There is no case for a three-phase or 22kW cable: the onboard charger is single-phase only and cannot use additional phases, so the charging rate stays at 7.2kW whatever cable you fit.

A 5m cable covers most home driveways and hotel charging points comfortably. Given the Urus SE's size, consider whether your normal parking position puts the charging port at an awkward distance from the wallbox: if so, a 7m lead avoids the cable being stretched taut. The absence of DC rapid charging means you will rely on home or destination AC charging for routine top-ups, so a well-chosen cable length matters more than it might on a car with rapid capability.

What does it cost to charge?

Filling the 25.9kWh battery from empty costs roughly £1.95 on an off-peak tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, and around £7 at a standard rate of roughly 27p per kWh. At 7.2kW, a full charge from empty takes around three and a half hours, so plugging in each evening is a practical routine. Check current tariffs as rates vary between suppliers.

Good
questions.

Contact us
Can the Lamborghini Urus SE charge at 22kW?+

No, the Lamborghini Urus SE has a single-phase onboard charger limited to 7.2kW, so a 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. A 22kW cable would only benefit a future car.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What charging cable does the Lamborghini Urus SE need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Urus SE has a Type 2 AC inlet and accepts up to 7.2kW single-phase. There is no DC rapid charging port. A 7.4kW cable delivers the full AC charging speed the car can use.

Can the Lamborghini Urus SE rapid charge?+

No. The Urus SE has no DC rapid charging capability. All charging is AC only through the Type 2 inlet, capped at 7.2kW by the onboard charger. On any faster charger the car will still draw only 7.2kW.

How long does the Lamborghini Urus SE take to charge at home?+

At 7.2kW on a home wallbox, the 25.9kWh battery takes roughly three and a half hours from empty to full. Plugging in after returning home in the evening will comfortably top up the battery before the next morning. A 3-pin socket would take considerably longer at around 11 hours.

What length cable do I need for the Lamborghini Urus SE?+

A 5m cable suits most home and hotel charging situations. Because the Urus SE relies entirely on AC charging with no DC option, having a cable that comfortably reaches your home wallbox is important. If your parking position is some distance from the wallbox socket, choose 7m to plug in without difficulty.
