Why this fits your B10+

The Leapmotor B10 has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Leapmotor B10.

The Leapmotor B10 is a fully electric compact SUV that arrived in the UK in 2025 through Leapmotor's Stellantis distribution partnership. It comes in two battery configurations: a 56.2kWh entry option and a 67.1kWh larger pack, both with a Type 2 AC inlet and CCS for DC rapid charging. The onboard AC charger accepts up to 11kW on three phases, and DC rapid charging peaks at around 168kW on the larger battery, making the B10 a capable charger at public rapid points.

At a home wallbox or public AC post, the cable you bring is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. With an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, the right cable choice depends on whether your home has a three-phase supply and how you plan to use public AC infrastructure.

The 56.2kWh variant charges faster at home; the 67.1kWh offers more range and a higher DC peak. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the B10 need?

The Leapmotor B10 has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. On a standard single-phase UK home supply, AC charging is capped at 7.4kW regardless of the cable, so most owners will find a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is all they need at home. It delivers the full speed available on a standard driveway supply.

If you have access to a three-phase supply or regularly charge at 22kW public AC stations, a 22kW three-phase cable is worth considering: the B10 will draw up to 11kW from those sources. At a 22kW AC point with a 22kW cable and the B10's 11kW ceiling, the car charges at 11kW. On any single-phase setup, a 22kW cable still delivers only 7.4kW, the same as the cheaper option.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 56.2kWh battery costs roughly £4 at an off-peak tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £15 at a standard rate of 27p per kWh. The 67.1kWh battery costs roughly £5 off-peak and around £18 at the standard rate. Overnight charging on a time-of-use tariff is the most cost-effective option for either variant. Check current rates, as they change.

Contact us
What charging cable does the Leapmotor B10 need?+

The Leapmotor B10 has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Leapmotor B10 need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC charge points. For a standard UK single-phase home supply, a 7.4kW cable is the practical choice, covering the full speed available. A 22kW three-phase cable is worth buying only if you have three-phase power at home or frequently use 22kW public AC chargers.

Can the Leapmotor B10 charge at 22kW?+

No. The B10's onboard AC charger peaks at 11kW on three phases. On a 22kW AC point it will pull up to 11kW, not 22kW. On a standard single-phase UK home wallbox, it charges at 7.4kW. DC rapid charging at up to 168kW is a separate function, using the tethered cable at a CCS rapid charger.

How long does the Leapmotor B10 take to charge at home?+

On a 7.4kW single-phase wallbox, the 56.2kWh battery takes around seven and a half hours from empty; the 67.1kWh takes roughly nine hours. Both are well suited to overnight charging. On a three-phase 11kW wallbox, those times drop to around five hours and six hours respectively.

Which battery is better for the Leapmotor B10: 56.2kWh or 67.1kWh?+

The 67.1kWh battery gives more range and a higher DC rapid charging peak of around 168kW versus roughly 140kW for the smaller pack. The 56.2kWh is lighter and charges faster from the same AC supply. For primarily urban use, either works well; for longer journeys, the larger battery and faster DC peak is an advantage.
