Charge speeds
Across the Leapmotor range.
Every Leapmotor here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. On-board AC charging ranges from about 6.6kW to 11kW depending on the model. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.
Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.
Charging guide
Charging
your Leapmotor.
Leapmotor has entered the UK market with a focused range of five models: the B05, B10, C10 and T03 full electrics, and the C10 REEV range-extender plug-in hybrid. Every Leapmotor uses a Type 2 inlet, so they all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging.
The difference to understand across the range is AC charging speed. The B05 and B10 have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, while the C10, C10 REEV and T03 are single-phase models limited to 6.6kW on AC. That affects how much value you get from a larger cable. Pick your model below for its exact charging times and recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Leapmotor need?
Every Leapmotor uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and wallboxes; choose 7m or 10m for on-street parking or a socket positioned well away from the charging port.
The B05 and B10 have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. Almost all UK homes are single-phase, which caps home charging at 7.4kW regardless of the cable you use. A 7.4kW cable delivers the full speed your home supply can provide. A 22kW rated cable is only worth buying if you have a three-phase supply at home or regularly use 22kW public AC points, where these models will accept up to 11kW.
The C10, C10 REEV and T03 are single-phase, topping out at 6.6kW on AC. A 7.4kW cable is already more than any of them can draw, so there is no reason to pay for a bigger one. A single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable suits the entire Leapmotor range.

Contact usDo all Leapmotors use a Type 2 charging cable?+−
Yes. Every Leapmotor sold in the UK, including the B05, B10, C10, C10 REEV and T03, uses a Type 2 inlet. They all take a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging, and no Leapmotor needs a Type 1 cable.
What charging cable does a Leapmotor B10 or B05 need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, 5m for most driveways. Both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase UK home they charge at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable gives the full speed available at home. Choose a 22kW cable only if you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC points.
Can a Leapmotor charge at 22kW on AC?+−
No Leapmotor charges at 22kW on AC. The B05 and B10 top out at 11kW on a three-phase supply; the C10, C10 REEV and T03 are limited to 6.6kW on a single phase. On a standard UK home supply every Leapmotor charges at 7.4kW or less.
What cable does the Leapmotor C10 or T03 need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Both the C10 and T03 are single-phase models that charge at up to 6.6kW on AC, so a standard 7.4kW cable is more than enough. There is no benefit from buying a larger cable for these models.
What length charging cable do I need for my Leapmotor?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. Go for 7m or 10m if you park on the street, share a charger with another vehicle, or your wallbox sits some distance from the charging port. Longer cables are heavier and bulkier to coil, so choose the shortest length that comfortably reaches.
