Why this fits your C10+

The Leapmotor C10 has a Type 2 inlet and a single-phase 6.6kW onboard charger. A 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. The 22kW option only helps if your next car charges faster.

Which Leapmotor C10 versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Leapmotor C10, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Leapmotor C10 Life
  • Leapmotor C10 AWD 81.9kWh
  • Leapmotor C10 RWD 81.9kWh

Whichever C10 trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Leapmotor C10.

The Leapmotor C10 is a fully electric mid-size SUV, on sale in the UK since 2024 through the Stellantis distribution network. The UK range includes the Life trim with a 69.9kWh battery and two 81.9kWh variants (RWD and AWD). All charge through a Type 2 AC inlet and support CCS DC rapid charging. One thing to note at launch is that the C10's onboard AC charger is single-phase only, rated at 6.6kW. DC rapid charging peaks at around 84kW.

For home charging and public AC points, the cable you bring is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. Because the onboard charger tops out at 6.6kW on a single phase, the cable choice is straightforward: a 7.4kW cable gives you everything the car can draw on AC, and a higher-rated cable adds nothing. DC rapid charging uses the charger's tethered cable.

The Life trim uses a 69.9kWh battery; RWD and AWD variants use an 81.9kWh pack. Both share the same 6.6kW AC and 84kW DC charge rates. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the C10 need?

The Leapmotor C10 has a 6.6kW single-phase onboard AC charger, which is slightly below the 7.4kW ceiling of a typical UK home wallbox. In practice, a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is exactly what to buy: the car will draw its 6.6kW maximum and the cable has headroom to spare. There is no case for an 11kW or 22kW cable on this car; neither adds anything.

For the 69.9kWh Life battery, a full charge from empty at 6.6kW takes roughly 10.5 hours; the 81.9kWh variants take around 12.5 hours. Overnight charging is clearly the right approach. A 5m cable is suitable for most home setups, but if your wallbox is positioned further from your usual parking spot, a 7m lead is worth choosing to avoid stretching the cable.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 69.9kWh Life battery from empty costs roughly £5.25 at an off-peak tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £19 at a standard rate of 27p per kWh. The 81.9kWh variants cost roughly £6 off-peak and around £22 at the standard rate. Overnight charging on a low-rate EV tariff is the most affordable approach given the larger batteries. Check current tariffs before switching.

Good
questions.

Contact us
What charging cable does the Leapmotor C10 need?+

The Leapmotor C10 has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on single-phase AC at up to 6.6kW.

Can the Leapmotor C10 charge at 22kW?+

No, the Leapmotor C10 has a single-phase onboard charger limited to 6.6kW, so a 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. A 22kW cable would only benefit a future car.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Leapmotor C10 need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC points. The C10's onboard AC charger is rated at 6.6kW single-phase, so a 7.4kW cable is the right choice. There is no advantage in buying a higher-rated cable: the car's 6.6kW ceiling applies regardless of what the cable or charge point can provide.

Can the Leapmotor C10 use a 22kW charger?+

It can connect to a 22kW AC point using a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, but the C10 will only draw 6.6kW because that is the limit of its onboard charger. The charge point's higher rate makes no difference. For DC rapid charging, the C10 supports up to 84kW via CCS using the rapid charger's own tethered cable.

How long does the Leapmotor C10 take to charge overnight?+

On a home wallbox at 6.6kW, the 69.9kWh Life takes around 10.5 hours from empty, and the 81.9kWh variants take around 12.5 hours. Both suit an overnight charge. On a standard 3-pin socket at around 2.3kW, a full charge from empty would take over 30 hours, so a dedicated wallbox is strongly recommended.

What length cable works for the Leapmotor C10?+

A 5m cable covers the majority of home driveways comfortably. For a mid-size SUV, measure from your wallbox to the furthest point the charging port will sit when parked: if it is close to 5m or more, choose a 7m lead to avoid a tight cable.
