Maxus eT90
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your eT90+−
The Maxus eT90 has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Maxus eT90.
The Maxus eT90 is an electric pickup truck that entered the UK market in 2023, built for buyers who want genuine load-carrying capability alongside zero tailpipe emissions. It carries an 88.55kWh battery, giving it a usable range that suits both daily commuting and heavier working use. Charging is handled through a standard Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS port for DC rapid charging at public fast chargers.
For charging at home, a workplace wallbox, or a public AC point, you need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The eT90's onboard AC charger accepts up to 11kW on a three-phase supply, putting it ahead of most single-phase home setups. DC rapid charging at up to 80kW is done through the charge station's own tethered CCS lead, so you do not need to carry a DC cable separately.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the eT90 need?
A 22kW three-phase rated Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the versatile choice for the eT90. The truck's onboard charger can pull up to 11kW on a three-phase supply, so a cable that supports three-phase current lets you take advantage of both workplace three-phase wallboxes and 22kW public AC posts. If your only charging point at home is a single-phase 7.4kW wallbox, that setup limits you to 7.4kW regardless of cable rating.
A 5m cable suits most driveways and workplace bays comfortably. Given the eT90 is a full-sized pickup with a longer body, a 7m cable can be practical if the charge point is placed at a fixed distance that might catch you short with a shorter lead. For the majority of users, a 7.4kW cable on a home single-phase wallbox is perfectly adequate day to day.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the eT90's 88.55kWh pack from empty costs roughly £7 at an off-peak rate of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £24 on a standard rate of roughly 27p. Overnight charging on a dedicated EV tariff is the most cost-effective approach for a battery of this size. Public rapid charging adds convenience on longer trips but comes at considerably higher per-kWh rates. Check current tariffs, as pricing changes.

Maxus eT90 FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usCan the Maxus eT90 charge at 22kW?+−
Yes, the Maxus eT90 has a three-phase onboard charger, so with a 22kW cable and a three-phase supply it can charge at up to 11kW.
What length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What charging cable does the Maxus eT90 need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The eT90 uses a standard Type 2 AC inlet and charges through any compatible Type 2 lead. Choose a cable rated to 22kW if you have access to three-phase charge points and want the truck to reach its 11kW maximum AC rate. A 7.4kW cable is sufficient for home single-phase charging.
Can the Maxus eT90 charge at 11kW?+−
Yes, on a three-phase supply. The onboard AC charger supports up to 11kW across three phases. Most UK domestic installations are single-phase, which means home charging is capped at 7.4kW. A three-phase supply at a depot or public charge point lets the eT90 reach its full 11kW AC rate.
How long does the eT90 take to charge from empty?+−
On a three-phase 11kW wallbox, the 88.55kWh pack takes around 8 to 8.5 hours from empty. On a single-phase 7.4kW charger that extends to roughly 12 hours. An overnight session on a home wallbox is more than sufficient for a full charge. DC rapid charging at up to 80kW cuts waiting time considerably when you are mid-journey.
Is a 5m cable long enough for the Maxus eT90?+−
For most home and workplace charge points, yes. A 5m cable reaches comfortably in typical parking positions. If the charge point is set further back from where the truck parks, or if there is a pillar or bollard to route around, a 7m or 10m lead gives the extra reach without needing to reposition the vehicle.
