Charge speeds

Across the Maxus range.

Every Maxus here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. On-board AC charging ranges from about 6.6kW to 11kW depending on the model. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.

Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.

Charging guide

Charging
your Maxus.

Maxus focuses almost entirely on electric commercial vehicles and people-carriers for the UK market. The range includes the eDeliver 3, eDeliver 5, eDeliver 7 and eDeliver 9 vans, the T90EV and eT90 electric pickups, the eTerron 9 lifestyle truck, and the MIFA 7 and Mifa 9 people-carriers. Every Maxus in the UK lineup uses a Type 2 inlet, so they all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and depot AC charging.

Where Maxus models differ is in how fast each charges on AC. The majority have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but the eDeliver 3 tops out at 6.6kW on a single phase. That distinction affects whether a 22kW cable adds any value. Pick your model below for its specific charging times and recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.

What charging cable does a Maxus need?

Every Maxus charges through a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most driveways and depot wallboxes; step up to 7m or 10m if the vehicle parks far from the charging socket or you need extra reach at a public charge point.

Most Maxus models, including the eDeliver 5, eDeliver 7, eDeliver 9, T90EV, eT90, eTerron 9, MIFA 7 and Mifa 9, have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. Almost all UK homes and many small depots run on a single phase, which caps AC charging at 7.4kW regardless of the cable. A 7.4kW cable gives the full speed available on a standard supply. A 22kW cable only earns its cost on a three-phase supply or at a 22kW public AC point, where these models will pull up to 11kW.

The eDeliver 3 is single-phase only, charging at up to 6.6kW on AC. A 7.4kW cable is more than it can draw, making it the right choice for this model too. In short, a single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable suits the entire Maxus range.

Do all Maxus vehicles use a Type 2 charging cable?+

Yes. Every Maxus EV sold in the UK, from the eDeliver 3 van to the MIFA 9 people-carrier, uses a Type 2 inlet. They all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging, and no Maxus needs a Type 1 cable.

What charging cable does a Maxus eDeliver 7 or eTerron 9 need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, 5m for most installations. Both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase supply they charge at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable covers the full speed available at home or at a standard depot wallbox. Choose a 22kW cable only if you have a three-phase supply or use 22kW public AC points.

Can a Maxus charge at 22kW on AC?+

No Maxus model charges at 22kW on AC. The three-phase models top out at 11kW, and only achieve that on a three-phase supply. On a standard single-phase supply every Maxus charges at 7.4kW or less.

What cable does the Maxus eDeliver 3 need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The eDeliver 3 charges at up to 6.6kW on AC, so a standard 7.4kW cable is more than enough. There is no benefit in buying a larger cable for this model.

What length charging cable do I need for my Maxus?+

5m suits most depot wallboxes and public charge points. Choose 7m or 10m if the vehicle parks in a tight bay, shares a charger, or your socket is positioned some distance from the charging port. Longer cables are heavier, so buy the shortest length that comfortably reaches.
