Why this fits your Mifa 9+

The Maxus Mifa 9 has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

Which Maxus Mifa 9 versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Maxus Mifa 9, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Maxus Mifa 9 Elite
  • Maxus Mifa 9 Luxury
  • Maxus Mifa 9 Premium

Whichever Mifa 9 trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Maxus Mifa 9.

The Maxus Mifa 9 is a large, premium electric MPV with seating for up to nine passengers, aimed at executive hire, family use, or operators needing a full-size electric people carrier. On sale in the UK from 2022, it carries a 90kWh battery and uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging alongside a CCS port for DC rapid charging up to 120kW. The cable you bring is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.

The Mifa 9's onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW on three phases. UK home charging on a single-phase supply is capped at 7.4kW. For operators running multiple vehicles, depot or workplace three-phase charging can allow the full 11kW rate. DC rapid charging at up to 120kW uses the station's tethered cable.

On a standard UK home supply, AC charging tops out at 7.4kW. Three-phase sites unlock the full 11kW. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Mifa 9 need?

The Mifa 9's 11kW three-phase onboard charger is most useful in fleet or depot settings where three-phase power is available. At a typical UK single-phase home wallbox, charging is capped at 7.4kW regardless of cable rating, so a standard 7.4kW Type 2 cable is all that is needed for home charging. It is cheaper and delivers exactly the same speed as a 22kW three-phase option on a single-phase supply.

Operators who charge on three-phase depot posts should choose a 22kW cable to allow the car to draw closer to its 11kW ceiling. A 10m cable is worth considering for large vehicle bays where the charging post may be some distance from the parking position. For simpler home use, a 5m or 7m lead will do the job.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 90kWh battery from empty costs roughly £7 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £24 at a standard rate of around 27p. For hire or fleet operators, overnight depot charging on a managed tariff is typically the lowest-cost approach. Public rapid charging at 45p to 80p or more per kWh is best used sparingly. Check current tariffs.

Contact us
What charging cable does the Maxus Mifa 9 need?+

The Maxus Mifa 9 has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Maxus Mifa 9 need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Mifa 9 has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, though UK home charging on single-phase is capped at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable suits home use; a 22kW cable is worth having for three-phase depot or public AC points where the car can pull closer to its full 11kW.

Can the Maxus Mifa 9 charge at 22kW?+

No. The onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW three-phase, so 22kW is beyond its capability. On a three-phase supply with a 22kW cable it can charge at up to 11kW. On a standard UK single-phase home it is limited to 7.4kW. The 22kW cable rating does not increase the car's charging speed above 11kW.

How long does the Maxus Mifa 9 take to charge at home?+

On a 7.4kW single-phase home wallbox, filling a 90kWh battery from empty takes around 12 to 13 hours, best done overnight. On a three-phase 11kW depot charger the time drops to around 8 to 9 hours. DC rapid charging at up to 120kW is much faster and uses the charger's own tethered cable.

What length cable do I need for the Maxus Mifa 9?+

The Mifa 9 is a long, tall MPV, so think about the cable run from wallbox or charging post to where the inlet sits on the vehicle. A 5m cable is fine for close-mounted home wallboxes; a 7m or 10m lead is more practical for depot layouts or when you cannot always predict the parking position.
