Maxus T90EV
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your T90EV+−
The Maxus T90EV has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

Charging
the Maxus T90EV.
The Maxus T90EV is the UK's first purpose-built fully electric pickup truck, on sale from 2023 and built around an 88.5kWh battery. It offers a full-size load bed for work use combined with genuine electric running. Charging uses a Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS port for DC rapid charging up to 80kW. The cable you supply for home wallboxes and public AC points is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.
The T90EV's onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW on three phases, though on a standard UK single-phase home supply the practical ceiling is 7.4kW. DC rapid charging at up to 80kW uses the charger's own tethered cable, not one you buy. The T90EV is rear-wheel drive only in this generation.
AC charging tops out at 7.4kW on a UK single-phase supply. Three-phase depot posts unlock the full 11kW. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the T90EV need?
Most T90EV owners will charge on a standard single-phase home wallbox, which caps AC charging at 7.4kW regardless of what cable is used. A 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the practical pick for home charging: it covers the car's full single-phase speed and costs less than a 22kW three-phase option that would not add speed at home.
Trade and fleet operators who can access three-phase power at a depot will find the T90EV can draw closer to its full 11kW from a suitable three-phase charger with a 22kW cable. For most driveway or home setups, 5m is enough; for depot parking where the charge point and cab end up some distance apart, a 10m cable avoids having to reposition the vehicle.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the 88.5kWh battery from empty costs roughly £7 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £24 at a standard rate of roughly 27p. Operators using the T90EV for daily work runs will benefit most from overnight depot or home charging on a managed tariff. Public rapid charging at 45p to 80p per kWh adds up quickly on a battery this size. Check current tariffs.

Maxus T90EV FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat charging cable does the Maxus T90EV need?+−
The Maxus T90EV has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.
What length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What cable does the Maxus T90EV need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for all AC charging. The T90EV has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard UK single-phase home supply it draws up to 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable suits home charging; a 22kW cable is worth having for three-phase depot or public AC points.
Can the Maxus T90EV charge at 22kW?+−
No. The onboard AC charger tops out at 11kW on three phases. A 22kW cable would deliver no more than 11kW to the car, and only then on a three-phase supply. On a UK single-phase home the limit is 7.4kW regardless of cable rating.
How long does the Maxus T90EV take to charge at home?+−
On a 7.4kW single-phase home wallbox, the 88.5kWh battery takes around 12 hours from empty, which suits an overnight charge. On a three-phase depot charger at 11kW it would take roughly 8 hours. DC rapid charging at up to 80kW is quicker and uses the charger's own cable.
What length cable do I need for the Maxus T90EV?+−
A 5m cable works for most home driveways. The T90EV is a full-size pickup and longer than the average car, so if your parking position puts the charging port well away from the wallbox, a 7m or 10m cable prevents strain on the connection. A 10m lead is particularly useful in depot or yard settings.
