Omoda 9 SHS
Charging cable
Full AC charging speed for your car.
Why this fits your 9 SHS+−
The Omoda 9 SHS has a Type 2 inlet and a single-phase 6.6kW onboard charger. A 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. The 22kW option only helps if your next car charges faster.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Omoda 9 SHS.
The Omoda 9 SHS is Omoda's larger plug-in hybrid SUV, arriving in the UK from 2025 with a notably bigger 34.5kWh battery than its smaller sibling. That capacity gives a meaningful electric-only range for a PHEV, and the AC inlet is a standard Type 2, compatible with home wallboxes and the vast network of public AC charge points. The cable you buy handles all AC charging; DC rapid charging is done via a tethered CCS cable at the charger itself.
AC charging on the 9 SHS tops out at 6.6kW on a single-phase supply. On the DC side it supports up to around 70kW, though that is handled by tethered rapid chargers, not a cable you carry. For everyday home or destination charging, a Type 2 to Type 2 lead is all you need.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the 9 SHS need?
The Omoda 9 SHS draws up to 6.6kW on AC, which sits just below the ceiling of a standard UK 7.4kW single-phase supply. A 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the correct and most cost-effective choice. It works on your home wallbox and at any public Type 2 AC point, and a 5m cable handles the majority of home setups without issue.
There is no benefit in stepping up to a 22kW three-phase cable. The car's AC onboard charger is rated at 6.6kW, so it will never draw more than that, whether on a single-phase home supply or a three-phase public unit. A 7.4kW cable gives you the full capability the car allows.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the 34.5kWh battery from empty costs roughly £2.50 to £3 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, and around £9 to £10 on a standard rate near 27p per kWh. Given the larger battery, regular overnight home charging makes the most economic sense. Check current tariff rates, as prices vary.

Omoda 9 SHS FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat charging cable does the Omoda 9 SHS need?+−
The Omoda 9 SHS has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on single-phase AC at up to 6.6kW.
What length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What cable does the Omoda 9 SHS need for home charging?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, rated to at least 7.4kW. The Omoda 9 SHS has a Type 2 AC inlet and draws up to 6.6kW on AC. A standard 7.4kW cable at 5m length covers home wallboxes and public AC points, and is the right cable for nearly all owners.
Can the Omoda 9 SHS charge at 22kW?+−
No. The onboard AC charger is limited to 6.6kW, so the car cannot benefit from 22kW AC equipment. You would pay more for the cable but charge at exactly the same speed. A 7.4kW cable is all that is needed.
How long does the Omoda 9 SHS take to charge at home?+−
At 6.6kW on a home wallbox, the 34.5kWh battery takes around five to five and a half hours from empty. That suits an overnight charge comfortably. At DC rapid chargers the car accepts up to around 70kW, but that requires a tethered rapid charger, not a cable you carry.
What length cable is best for the Omoda 9 SHS?+−
Most owners will find 5m adequate for a standard home driveway. If your wallbox is mounted at a distance from where you park, or the cable needs to reach around the car to the charging port, opt for a 7m or 10m cable for a more comfortable connection.
