Peugeot e-3008
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your e-3008+−
The Peugeot e-3008 has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Peugeot e-3008.
The Peugeot e-3008 is the fully electric successor to the original 3008 SUV, launched in the UK in 2024 on the STLA Medium platform. It is sold in two battery sizes: the standard 73kWh version, and a Long Range variant with a 97kWh pack offering significantly more range. Both charge through a standard Type 2 inlet for AC, and through a CCS port for DC rapid charging. The cable you buy covers home wallboxes and public AC charge points; rapid DC sessions use the charger's own tethered cable.
AC charging on the e-3008 runs at up to 11kW on three phases. Rapid DC charging reaches around 160kW on the standard 73kWh version, and around 230kW on the Long Range, though those speeds are delivered via tethered public chargers. For AC, a Type 2 to Type 2 cable is what you need.
Select your battery variant above. The 97kWh Long Range takes longer to fill on AC but extends between-stop range on motorway journeys. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the e-3008 need?
The e-3008's onboard AC charger accepts up to 11kW on three phases. Most UK homes run on a single-phase supply, where charging is capped at 7.4kW whatever the cable rating. For those owners, a 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the practical choice and delivers the full speed available from a standard home wallbox. A 5m length suits most driveways.
At a three-phase public AC point or a three-phase home supply, the e-3008 can pull its full 11kW, and a 22kW-rated cable gives you access to that. If you regularly charge at 22kW public AC stations, the bigger cable is worthwhile. On a single-phase home it charges at the same 7.4kW as a standard cable, so three-phase access is what determines whether the upgrade is useful.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the 73kWh battery from empty costs roughly £5.50 on an off-peak EV tariff at around 7.5p per kWh, and around £20 at a standard rate near 27p per kWh. The 97kWh Long Range costs roughly £7 to £7.50 at off-peak rates. Overnight home charging is the cheapest way to keep an e-3008 topped up day to day. Check current tariff rates.

Peugeot e-3008 FAQs
Good
questions.

Contact usWhat charging cable does the Peugeot e-3008 need?+−
The Peugeot e-3008 has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.
What length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What cable does the Peugeot e-3008 need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. The e-3008 has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. On a standard single-phase UK home, a 7.4kW cable gives the full available speed. A 22kW cable is only beneficial if you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC stations.
How long does the Peugeot e-3008 take to charge at home?+−
On a 7.4kW single-phase wallbox, the 73kWh battery takes around 10 hours from empty, well within an overnight charge. The 97kWh Long Range takes around 13 to 14 hours. On a three-phase supply at 11kW, those times drop to roughly seven and nine hours respectively.
Can the Peugeot e-3008 charge at 22kW?+−
No. The onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW, so the car cannot draw more than 11kW on AC whatever the charger rating. A 22kW cable on a three-phase supply gives the full 11kW, but the cable alone does not unlock 22kW charging.
Is a 5m cable long enough for the Peugeot e-3008?+−
For most home setups, yes. A 5m cable reaches comfortably in the majority of driveway arrangements. If your wallbox is positioned away from your usual parking spot, or you park with different orientations at different times, a 7m cable removes the risk of the lead being stretched at the connector.
