Why this fits your Zoe Van+

The Renault Zoe Van has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 22kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 22kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

Which Renault Zoe Van versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Renault Zoe Van, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Renault Zoe Van Business
  • Renault Zoe Van Business+

Whichever Zoe Van trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Renault Zoe Van.

The Renault Zoe Van is the LCV-registered version of the Gen2 Zoe (ZE50), sold in the UK between 2020 and 2024. It shares the hatchback's electric drivetrain and 52kWh battery in a panel-van body with a blanked-off rear, making it a popular choice for last-mile delivery and city-based businesses. It charges via a Type 2 inlet for AC, and some examples include an optional CCS port for DC rapid charging at up to 50kW. The cable you bring to a home wallbox or business charger is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.

Like its passenger counterpart, the Zoe Van uses Renault's Chameleon onboard charger rated at 22kW on three phases. This is a meaningful specification for fleet operators who may have access to three-phase power at a depot or business premises, and it affects which cable type delivers the fastest AC charging on that van.

Business or Business+ trim. Confirm whether your van has the optional CCS port for DC rapid charging. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Zoe Van need?

At a standard single-phase home or domestic business wallbox, the Zoe Van charges at up to 7.4kW, which is the ceiling of the single-phase supply. At that rate, the 52kWh battery takes around seven hours from empty, covering most overnight scenarios comfortably. A 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the appropriate choice for this setup.

If your depot or workplace has a three-phase supply and a 22kW AC charge point, the Zoe Van can draw its full 22kW through a 22kW three-phase cable, cutting charge time to around two to two and a half hours. That is a genuine operational advantage for a fleet vehicle that needs to return to service quickly. Choose the cable rating based on where you primarily charge: a 7.4kW lead for single-phase, a 22kW lead for three-phase.

What does it cost to charge?

Filling the 52kWh battery from empty at an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh costs roughly £4. At a standard rate of around 27p per kWh the same full charge comes to around £14. Business operators on fleet tariffs may access lower rates; overnight off-peak charging at a depot keeps costs low. DC rapid charging is dearer per kWh and is better reserved for topping up during a working day. Check current rates.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What charging cable does the Renault Zoe Van need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The correct rating depends on your supply: a single-phase wallbox caps at 7.4kW, so a 7.4kW cable is sufficient. A three-phase supply or 22kW public AC point allows the Zoe Van's 22kW Chameleon charger to operate at its full rate, for which you need a 22kW three-phase cable.

Can the Renault Zoe Van charge at 22kW?+

Yes. Like the Zoe hatchback, the Zoe Van has Renault's Chameleon onboard charger rated at 22kW on three phases. To achieve that rate you need a three-phase supply or 22kW AC charge point AND a 22kW cable. On a standard single-phase home or depot wallbox, the ceiling is 7.4kW.

How long does the Renault Zoe Van take to charge?+

On a 7.4kW single-phase wallbox, the 52kWh battery takes around seven hours from empty, which suits an overnight depot charge. On a 22kW three-phase AC point with the right cable this drops to roughly two to two and a half hours. DC rapid charging at up to 50kW (where the van has the optional CCS port) uses the charger's tethered cable.

Does the Renault Zoe Van support DC rapid charging?+

Some examples do. A CCS port for DC rapid charging at up to 50kW was available as an option on the Zoe Van (ZE50). Check your specific vehicle: the CCS port is not fitted to all examples. DC rapid charging uses the charger's own tethered cable and is separate from the Type 2 cable you carry for AC charging.
