Rolls-Royce Spectre
Charging cable
Charges about 195% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your Spectre+−
The Rolls-Royce Spectre has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 22kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 22kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Rolls-Royce Spectre.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre is Rolls-Royce's first fully electric car, launched in 2023 as a grand touring coupe. It carries a 102kWh usable battery (120kWh gross) and combines that with a power output of over 570bhp for a car that weighs close to 3,000kg. Charging is through a Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS port for DC rapid charging at up to 195kW, which uses the charger's own tethered cable. For AC charging at home or a public charge point, the cable you provide is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.
The Spectre's onboard AC charger supports up to 22kW on three phases. For a car in this category, that is a practical specification: at a 22kW public AC point or a three-phase premises charger, the large 102kWh battery can be meaningfully replenished between engagements without needing a DC rapid charger.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the Spectre need?
The Spectre's 22kW three-phase onboard AC charger is one of the faster AC units available, and it is worth understanding what that means in practice. At a UK domestic wallbox on a single-phase supply, AC charging is limited to 7.4kW: the supply ceiling, not the car's limit. On a three-phase supply or a 22kW public AC charge post, the Spectre can draw its full 22kW, and in that environment a 22kW three-phase Type 2 cable is the right choice.
For most Spectre owners charging at home through a dedicated home charger, a 7.4kW cable covers the domestic single-phase ceiling and fills the 102kWh battery in around 14 hours on a dedicated overnight tariff. Owners with access to three-phase power, or who regularly use 22kW public AC points, will benefit from a 22kW cable: the charge time at 22kW drops to around 4.5 to 5 hours, which is more useful on a scheduled stop.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the 102kWh battery from empty at an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh costs roughly £7.50. At a standard rate of around 27p per kWh the same charge comes to around £27.50. For a car of this level, home charging on a dedicated overnight tariff is the most convenient and cost-effective routine. DC rapid charging is considerably dearer per kWh. Check current tariffs as rates change.

Rolls-Royce Spectre FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What charging cable does the Rolls-Royce Spectre need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Whether to choose a 7.4kW or 22kW cable depends on your charging setup. A domestic single-phase wallbox caps at 7.4kW; a three-phase supply or 22kW public AC charge point lets the Spectre use its full 22kW onboard charger. DC rapid charging at up to 195kW uses the charger's own tethered CCS cable.
Can the Rolls-Royce Spectre charge at 22kW?+−
Yes. The Spectre's onboard AC charger is rated at 22kW on three phases. To achieve this you need a three-phase supply or 22kW AC public charge point AND a 22kW three-phase cable. UK home supplies are almost always single-phase, capping home AC charging at 7.4kW regardless of cable rating.
How long does the Rolls-Royce Spectre take to charge?+−
On a 7.4kW single-phase home wallbox, the 102kWh battery takes around 14 hours from empty, suited to an overnight charge. On a 22kW three-phase AC point with the right cable, this reduces to around 4.5 to 5 hours. DC rapid charging at up to 195kW is the fastest option and uses the charger's tethered cable.
What length cable do I need for the Rolls-Royce Spectre?+−
A 5m Type 2 cable suits most garages and driveways. Given the Spectre's length, the charging inlet may sit at some distance from a wall-mounted charger depending on how you park. A 7m cable offers useful flexibility, and for a larger garage with the charger positioned away from the car's resting position, 10m removes all guesswork.
