Why this fits your eVitara+

The Suzuki eVitara has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

Which Suzuki eVitara versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Suzuki eVitara, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Suzuki eVitara Ultra
  • Suzuki eVitara Motion
  • Suzuki eVitara Ultra Allgrip E
  • Suzuki eVitara Motion Allgrip E

Whichever eVitara trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Suzuki eVitara.

The Suzuki eVitara is the brand's first purpose-built electric SUV, arriving in the UK from 2025. It is available with a 49kWh or 61kWh battery and charges through a Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS port for DC rapid charging. When you charge at home or at a public AC post, the cable you provide is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.

Both battery versions share the same 11kW three-phase onboard AC charger and DC capability of up to around 67kW via CCS, which uses the tethered cable fitted to the rapid charger rather than one you own. Choosing the right cable for the eVitara is mainly about understanding what your home supply can deliver.

Select your battery size above. The 49kWh pack charges noticeably faster from the same start point on AC, while the 61kWh version offers greater range between charges. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the eVitara need?

The eVitara's onboard charger supports up to 11kW on three phases, but most UK homes have a single-phase supply, which caps charging at 7.4kW whatever cable you use. On a standard home wallbox, a 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable gives you the maximum speed your supply can provide. A higher-rated cable does not increase charging speed on a single-phase connection.

If you have a three-phase supply at home, or you regularly use 22kW AC public chargers, a 22kW cable would let the eVitara charge at its full 11kW rate. On all single-phase setups the difference between a 7.4kW and a 22kW cable is zero in practice. A 5m lead covers most parking arrangements, and 7m is useful if the wallbox is further away.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 61kWh battery from empty costs around £4.60 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or roughly £16.50 at a standard rate of around 27p. The 49kWh version costs around £3.70 or roughly £13.20 on the same rates. Overnight charging on a dedicated EV tariff keeps the eVitara cheap to run day to day. Tariffs change regularly, so check your current rate.

Contact us
What charging cable does the Suzuki eVitara need?+

The Suzuki eVitara has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.

Can the Suzuki eVitara charge at 22kW?+

Yes, the Suzuki eVitara has a three-phase onboard charger, so with a 22kW cable and a three-phase supply it can charge at up to 11kW.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Suzuki eVitara need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. The onboard AC charger supports up to 11kW three-phase. On a typical single-phase UK home supply a 7.4kW cable is the right choice. A 22kW cable is only worth considering if you have a three-phase supply or use 22kW public AC points regularly.

Does the Suzuki eVitara charge at 22kW?+

No, not at 22kW. The eVitara's onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW on three phases. Even with a 22kW cable and a three-phase supply, charging is capped at 11kW. On a standard UK single-phase home supply, the maximum is 7.4kW regardless of cable rating.

How long does the eVitara take to charge at home?+

On a 7.4kW single-phase wallbox the 61kWh version takes around eight to nine hours from empty, and the 49kWh version around six to seven hours. Both easily complete overnight. DC rapid charging at up to around 67kW on a public charger is much quicker and uses the charger's own tethered cable.

What length Type 2 cable should I buy for the Suzuki eVitara?+

A 5m cable suits most home driveways and standard public parking bays. If your wallbox is set back from your usual parking spot or the socket ends up a long way from the wallbox position, 7m or 10m avoids any strain on the cable or connectors.
