Why this fits your Q6 e-tron+

The Audi Q6 e-tron has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

Which Audi Q6 e-tron versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Audi Q6 e-tron, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Audi Q6 e-tron Sport
  • Audi Q6 e-tron S line
  • Audi Q6 e-tron Edition 1
  • Audi Q6 e-tron Performance
  • Audi Q6 e-tron quattro
  • Audi Q6 e-tron SQ6

Whichever Q6 e-tron trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Audi Q6 e-tron.

The Audi Q6 e-tron is Audi's mid-size electric SUV built on the PPE 800-volt platform, launched in the UK in 2024. It offers a substantial 94.9kWh usable battery with DC rapid charging at up to 270kW, making it one of the fastest-charging family SUVs currently available. Trims include Sport, S Line, Edition 1, Performance and the high-output SQ6.

AC charging through the Type 2 inlet is the method for home and public AC points, and the cable you carry is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. The standard onboard AC charger is rated at 11kW on three phases, with 22kW available as an option on some variants. DC rapid charging at up to 270kW goes through the CCS port using the charger's own tethered cable; you do not need to buy a DC cable.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Q6 e-tron need?

Most Q6 e-tron buyers will charge at home on a 7.4kW single-phase wallbox, which is the ceiling for a standard UK domestic supply regardless of the car's 11kW capability. A 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable suits that setup well and is the practical choice for the majority of owners. From empty the 94.9kWh battery takes roughly 13 hours at 7.4kW, which works overnight on most weekday schedules.

If your property has a three-phase supply, or you use 22kW public AC points regularly, the Q6 e-tron's 11kW onboard charger can accept that additional speed with the right three-phase cable. Owners of variants with the optional 22kW charger get an additional benefit at 22kW public stations. On any single-phase connection, though, a 22kW-rated cable delivers no advantage over a 7.4kW lead; the supply is the binding constraint, not the cable.

What does it cost to charge?

Charging the 94.9kWh battery from empty costs roughly £7 on an off-peak EV tariff at around 7.5p per kWh, or around £26 at a standard rate of around 27p per kWh. Overnight charging on a dedicated EV tariff is the most cost-effective way to keep this SUV topped up. Public rapid charging on a 270kW network can add significant range in a short stop but costs considerably more per kWh, so it is most valuable on motorway trips rather than as a daily routine. Check current tariff rates.

Good

What charging cable does the Audi Q6 e-tron need?+

The Audi Q6 e-tron has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Audi Q6 e-tron need for home charging?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Q6 e-tron has a Type 2 AC inlet rated at 11kW on three phases (22kW optional), and a CCS port for rapid DC that uses the station's own cable. For most UK owners on a single-phase home supply, a 7.4kW Type 2 lead is the right choice. A three-phase cable is worth considering only with a three-phase supply or at 22kW public chargers.

Can the Audi Q6 e-tron charge at 22kW?+

With the optional 22kW onboard charger, yes, but only at a 22kW three-phase AC station and only with a three-phase capable cable. The standard model tops out at 11kW AC on three phases. On a single-phase UK home supply the maximum is 7.4kW regardless of cable or charger rating. DC rapid charging at up to 270kW is the Q6 e-tron's real high-speed option.

How long does an Audi Q6 e-tron take to charge at home?+

On a 7.4kW single-phase home wallbox, charging the 94.9kWh battery from empty takes around 13 hours. On an 11kW three-phase supply that comes down to roughly 9 hours. DC rapid charging at up to 270kW can deliver a significant charge in under 30 minutes at a compatible station, using the charger's own tethered cable. Overnight home charging suits most owners' daily mileage.

What length cable do I need for the Audi Q6 e-tron?+

A 5m lead covers most residential driveways and is manageable to coil into a larger SUV boot. A 7m cable is useful if your wallbox is positioned away from your usual parking spot, or if you charge at a range of public AC points where bay layouts vary. Ten-metre cables offer maximum flexibility but are heavier and bulkier to carry.
