Citroen e-Berlingo
Charging cable
The e-Berlingo is single-phase 7.4kW as standard. If you specified the optional 11kW three-phase charger, you need the 22kW cable to use it.
Full AC charging speed for your car.
Why this fits your e-Berlingo+−
The Citroen e-Berlingo has a Type 2 inlet and a single-phase 7.4kW onboard charger. A 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. The 22kW option only helps if your next car charges faster.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Citroen e-Berlingo.
The Citroen e-Berlingo is a fully electric MPV designed for families who need van-like practicality with up to seven seats. It arrived in the UK from 2021 and shares its platform and 50kWh battery with several PSA Group siblings. The charging inlet is Type 2, the standard for European EVs, and it pairs with a CCS port for DC rapid charging.
For charging at home or at public AC points, you supply a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The e-Berlingo's standard onboard AC charger is rated at 7.4kW single-phase, with an optional upgrade to 11kW three-phase on some versions. DC rapid charging at up to 100kW uses the charger's own tethered CCS cable and is not a lead you buy yourself.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the e-Berlingo need?
For most e-Berlingo owners on a standard UK home supply, a 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable delivers the maximum speed available from a single-phase wallbox. That covers the standard onboard charger rating and is the practical everyday choice. A 5m cable reaches most home charge points comfortably, though a 7m lead is useful if you park further from the socket.
If your e-Berlingo has the optional 11kW three-phase onboard charger, and you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC points, a 22kW rated cable would allow the car to draw up to 11kW at those locations. On a standard single-phase home supply the charge speed stays at 7.4kW regardless of cable rating, so the cheaper cable is the sensible choice for most households.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the 50kWh battery from empty costs roughly £3.75 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £13.50 at a standard rate of about 27p per kWh. Overnight home charging is by far the cheapest way to keep the e-Berlingo topped up. Public rapid charging is considerably more expensive per kWh and is best used on longer trips. Check current tariff rates, as these change.

Citroen e-Berlingo FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What charging cable does the Citroen e-Berlingo need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes and public AC charge points. The standard onboard charger is rated at 7.4kW single-phase, so a 7.4kW cable at 5m is the right fit for most owners. Some versions have an optional 11kW three-phase charger, but this only makes a difference on a three-phase supply.
Can the Citroen e-Berlingo charge at 22kW?+−
No. Even with the optional 11kW three-phase onboard charger, the e-Berlingo cannot exceed 11kW on AC. A 22kW cable will not increase the speed beyond that. On a standard UK single-phase home supply, charging tops out at 7.4kW regardless of which cable or charger option the car has.
How long does the Citroen e-Berlingo take to charge at home?+−
On a 7.4kW home wallbox the 50kWh battery takes around seven hours from empty, making it a good candidate for an overnight charge. If the car has the 11kW three-phase option and you have a matching supply, that time drops to around four and a half hours. A 3-pin socket is much slower at around seventeen hours.
What length cable do I need for the Citroen e-Berlingo?+−
A 5m Type 2 to Type 2 cable suits most home driveways and public charging bays. The e-Berlingo is a longer vehicle than a typical hatchback, so if your wallbox is positioned near the front of the parking space and you park nose-in, a 7m cable gives useful extra reach to wherever the charging inlet sits on your car.
