Why this fits your e-Dispatch+

The Citroen e-Dispatch has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Citroen e-Dispatch.

The Citroen e-Dispatch is a medium-to-large electric panel van aimed at fleets, tradespeople, and businesses needing zero-emission cargo capacity. It has been available in the UK since 2020 in a K0 generation body and is offered with two battery sizes: 50kWh for shorter daily routes and 75kWh for longer range or heavier duty cycles. Both variants use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging and a CCS port for DC rapid work.

Van operators typically charge at a depot, a business yard, or at home overnight. The portable cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. The e-Dispatch's standard onboard AC charger is rated at 7.4kW single-phase, with an optional 11kW three-phase version on some specifications. DC rapid charging at up to 100kW uses the rapid charger's own tethered CCS cable and is not something you bring yourself.

Select your battery above. Both share the same onboard AC charger, so home charging speed is identical; the 75kWh version simply takes longer to fill from empty. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the e-Dispatch need?

On a standard single-phase supply the e-Dispatch's onboard AC charger delivers 7.4kW, which is the ceiling for home and single-phase depot charging regardless of the cable rating. A 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable covers this perfectly. For a working van, a 7m or 10m cable is often worth the extra length to allow flexible parking at a depot or yard without needing to manoeuvre close to the charge point.

If the e-Dispatch has the 11kW three-phase optional charger and your depot has a three-phase supply, a 22kW rated cable lets the van pull 11kW from compatible AC charge points. On single-phase the speed remains 7.4kW, so the higher-rated cable only pays off in a genuinely three-phase environment. Most small business and home setups will be fine with the standard 7.4kW cable.

What does it cost to charge?

Filling the 75kWh battery from empty costs roughly £5.60 on an off-peak tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, or around £20 at a standard rate of about 27p per kWh. The 50kWh version works out at around £3.75 off-peak or around £13.50 at standard rates. Depot or overnight home charging on an off-peak business energy tariff keeps running costs down. Check current rates as tariffs vary.

Contact us
Can the Citroen e-Dispatch charge at 22kW?+

Only with the optional three-phase onboard charger. The Citroen e-Dispatch is single-phase 7.4kW as standard, so a 7.4kW cable delivers its full AC speed. If you specified the optional 11kW three-phase charger, choose the 22kW three-phase cable to use it.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What charging cable does the Citroen e-Dispatch need?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home wallboxes, depot chargers, and public AC points. The standard onboard charger is 7.4kW single-phase, so a 7.4kW cable is the practical choice for most operators. Van users often find a 7m or 10m lead useful for depot charging where the parking position is not always close to the charge point.

Can the Citroen e-Dispatch rapid charge?+

Yes, via CCS DC rapid chargers at up to 100kW. The rapid charging cable is tethered to the charger and is not something you purchase yourself. For everyday depot or home charging you use your own Type 2 to Type 2 cable with the van's 7.4kW standard AC charger.

How long does the Citroen e-Dispatch take to charge at home or a depot?+

On a 7.4kW wallbox, the 50kWh version takes around seven hours from empty and the 75kWh version around ten to eleven hours. Both are practical for overnight depot or home charging. At a DC rapid charger the battery fills much faster, but rapid sessions are best reserved for during-shift top-ups on longer working days.

What length cable do I need for the Citroen e-Dispatch?+

A 5m cable works for home driveways, but depot operators often benefit from a 7m or 10m lead. The e-Dispatch is a full-size panel van, and parking positions in a yard or loading bay may not always place the inlet close to the charge point. A longer cable removes that constraint and keeps charging straightforward.
