Why this fits your Grande Panda+

The Fiat Grande Panda has a Type 2 inlet and a single-phase 7.4kW onboard charger. A 7.4kW cable already delivers its full AC speed. The 22kW option only helps if your next car charges faster.

Which Fiat Grande Panda versions does it fit?+

This cable fits every Fiat Grande Panda, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:

  • Fiat Grande Panda Pop
  • Fiat Grande Panda Red
  • Fiat Grande Panda Icon
  • Fiat Grande Panda La Prima

Whichever Grande Panda trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?

Charging
the Fiat Grande Panda.

The Fiat Grande Panda is an all-new generation of Panda, built on the Smart Car platform and arriving in the UK in 2024 as a practical, upright hatchback with a retro-inspired design. The 44kWh LFP battery is shared with the platform and suits urban and commuter driving well. The Grande Panda charges via a Type 2 inlet for AC and a CCS socket for DC rapid charging.

To charge at a home wallbox or public AC post, you bring a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Grande Panda's standard onboard AC charger is rated at 7.4kW on single phase, with an 11kW three-phase option available on some versions. DC rapid charging at up to 100kW is handled by the charger's own tethered cable, so no additional cable is needed at a rapid charger.

The Grande Panda's standard AC charger is 7.4kW single-phase. The 11kW three-phase option is not fitted as standard on all trims: check your order specification. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.

7.4 kW or 22 kW?

Which cable does
the Grande Panda need?

The Grande Panda's standard onboard charger is 7.4kW on single phase, and that lines up neatly with what most UK home wallboxes can deliver. A 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 lead unlocks the full home-charging speed as standard, and for the majority of owners there is no reason to spend more on a higher-rated cable. The LFP battery means you can charge to 100% overnight without any concern for long-term battery health.

An 11kW three-phase charger is available as an option on some Grande Panda variants. If yours has it and you have access to a three-phase supply, whether at a workplace or a commercial AC charger, a three-phase cable will let the car charge at the higher rate. On a standard single-phase domestic wallbox, however, the ceiling stays at 7.4kW no matter which cable you choose, so the upgrade only pays off if you genuinely have three-phase power to use.

What does it cost to charge?

Filling the 44kWh battery from empty costs roughly £3 on an off-peak EV tariff at around 7.5p per kWh, and around £12 at a standard rate of around 27p. The compact battery makes the Grande Panda one of the cheaper EVs to charge at home: even at standard daytime rates a complete top-up seldom costs more than £15. Public rapid charging is considerably more expensive, often 45p to 80p per kWh, so it is best reserved for longer trips rather than routine top-ups. Check the rate you are actually on before budgeting.

Contact us
What charging cable does the Fiat Grande Panda need?+

The Fiat Grande Panda has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on single-phase AC at up to 7.4kW.

Can the Fiat Grande Panda charge at 22kW?+

Only with the optional three-phase onboard charger. The Fiat Grande Panda is single-phase 7.4kW as standard, so a 7.4kW cable delivers its full AC speed. If you specified the optional 11kW three-phase charger, choose the 22kW three-phase cable to use it.

What length charging cable should I get?+

5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.

What cable does the Fiat Grande Panda need for home charging?+

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The standard Grande Panda charges at 7.4kW single-phase, so a 7.4kW rated lead is the right choice for most owners. If your car has the optional 11kW three-phase charger and your home has a three-phase supply, a three-phase cable will let you use the higher rate on a 22kW public AC charger as well.

Can the Fiat Grande Panda charge at 11kW?+

Only if the optional 11kW three-phase charger is fitted. The standard Grande Panda is limited to 7.4kW on single phase. Even with the 11kW option, a three-phase electricity supply is required to reach that rate: on a standard UK single-phase home wallbox the speed remains 7.4kW regardless of which cable is connected.

How long does the Fiat Grande Panda take to charge overnight?+

With a 7.4kW home wallbox the 44kWh battery takes around 6 hours from empty, which fits easily within a standard overnight window. If your car has the 11kW three-phase option and you have a three-phase supply, the fill drops to around 4 hours. A domestic three-pin socket charges at roughly 2.3kW and takes around 19 hours, making it best reserved for emergencies or the occasional top-up.

What length cable do I need for the Fiat Grande Panda?+

A 5m cable covers most home driveways and public charging bays without excess slack. If your wallbox is mounted further from your usual parking spot, or the run needs to clear a gate or step, a 7m lead gives a useful margin. Choose 10m only if you have a genuinely long or awkward layout to work around.
