Jaguar I-Pace
Charging cable
The I-Pace is single-phase 7.4kW as standard. If you specified the optional 11kW three-phase charger, you need the 22kW cable to use it.
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your I-Pace+−
The Jaguar I-Pace has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.
Which Jaguar I-Pace versions does it fit?+
This cable fits every Jaguar I-Pace, because they all share the same Type 2 charging inlet. That includes:
- Jaguar I-Pace S
- Jaguar I-Pace SE
- Jaguar I-Pace HSE
- Jaguar I-Pace First Edition
- Jaguar I-Pace R-Dynamic S
- Jaguar I-Pace R-Dynamic SE
- Jaguar I-Pace R-Dynamic HSE
- Jaguar I-Pace 400 Sport
Whichever I-Pace trim you drive, it is the same cable, so you can order with confidence.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Jaguar I-Pace.
The Jaguar I-Pace is a five-door electric SUV built on Jaguar's own bespoke platform, sold in the UK from 2018 to 2024. It carries a 90kWh battery (around 84.7kWh usable) and was the brand's first and only all-electric model before Jaguar moved to its new electric-only generation. All variants use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging and a CCS port for DC rapid sessions, which rely on the charger's own tethered cable.
For home charging and public AC points you bring a Type 2 to Type 2 lead. The standard onboard AC charger on early I-Pace models runs at 7kW on a single phase; from the 2021 model year, Jaguar offered an 11kW three-phase charger as an upgrade. DC rapid charging peaks at up to 100kW on later cars, with some early examples limited to 50kW.
Estimates based on battery size and charge power. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the I-Pace need?
The charging advice for an I-Pace depends on its model year. Cars built before the 2021 update have a 7kW single-phase onboard charger, which means a 7.4kW cable delivers the car's full AC speed from any supply. There is no advantage to a 22kW cable on these early cars. Post-2021 I-Pace models with the optional 11kW charger can draw more from a three-phase supply, but most UK home wallboxes remain single-phase, so the practical home charging rate is still 7.4kW.
If your I-Pace has the 11kW charger and you regularly use 22kW public AC posts, a 22kW Type 2 cable lets you pull the full 11kW at those points. For a standard UK home setup, a 7.4kW cable covers everything. Given the 90kWh battery, overnight charging is the natural pattern regardless of which cable you choose.
What does it cost to charge?
Filling the I-Pace's 90kWh battery from empty costs roughly £6 to £7 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, and around £24 at a standard rate of around 27p per kWh. Overnight home charging on a dedicated EV tariff is the most practical and affordable routine. Public rapid charging is considerably more expensive per kWh, so it is best reserved for longer journeys. Check current tariff rates before calculating your own costs.

Jaguar I-Pace FAQs
Good
questions.
Still not sure? Our team will confirm the right cable for your vehicle.
Contact usWhat charging cable does the Jaguar I-Pace need?+−
The Jaguar I-Pace has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.
What length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
What cable does the Jaguar I-Pace need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. Most I-Pace models have a 7kW single-phase onboard charger, making a 7.4kW cable the natural match. Post-2021 cars with the optional 11kW charger can benefit from a 22kW cable at three-phase public AC points, but for home use a 7.4kW lead is sufficient.
Can the Jaguar I-Pace charge at 22kW?+−
No. The I-Pace's onboard AC charger is 7kW single-phase on standard cars, or 11kW three-phase on post-2021 cars with the upgrade. Neither version can reach 22kW. On a typical UK single-phase home supply, AC charging tops out at 7.4kW.
How long does a Jaguar I-Pace take to charge at home?+−
On a 7.4kW home wallbox, the 90kWh battery takes around 12 to 13 hours from empty, which suits an overnight charge. Post-2021 cars with the 11kW charger on a three-phase supply reduce that to around 8 to 9 hours. DC rapid charging at up to 100kW on later models brings the battery from around 0% to 80% in roughly one hour.
What length cable do I need for the Jaguar I-Pace?+−
A 5m cable covers most home driveway setups. If your wallbox is mounted at a distance from where the car parks, or the charging port ends up on the far side from the socket, a 7m lead gives you comfortable reach without pulling the cable taut.
