Ora 03 (Funky Cat)
Charging cable
Charges about 50% faster on 22 kW public posts than a 7.4 kW cable.
Why this fits your 03 (Funky Cat)+−
The Ora 03 (Funky Cat) has a Type 2 inlet and a three-phase 11kW onboard charger. The 22kW cable carries its full 11kW on three-phase chargers. A 7.4kW cable would cap it. On a single-phase home wallbox both cables charge at the same 7.4kW.

How long does it take?
Charging
the Ora 03 (Funky Cat).
The Ora 03, formerly sold in the UK as the Ora Funky Cat, is a compact electric hatchback from GWM. It has been on sale in the UK from 2022 and is available in two battery sizes: the standard range with a 45.4kWh pack, and a Long Range version with a 63.1kWh pack. Both use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging and a CCS port for DC rapid charging, so a Type 2 to Type 2 cable is what you need for home or public AC charging.
AC charging on the Ora 03 runs at up to 11kW on three phases. Rapid DC charging reaches up to around 64kW on the standard battery and up to around 80kW on the Long Range, but those sessions use the tethered cable at the rapid charger rather than one you carry.
Select your battery version above. The Long Range pack takes noticeably longer to fill on AC but covers more distance between charges. Rapid (DC) times are for a 10 to 80% charge, the way manufacturers quote them. Real-world charging varies with temperature, battery state and the charger itself.
7.4 kW or 22 kW?
Which cable does
the 03 (Funky Cat) need?
The Ora 03 supports AC charging at up to 11kW on three phases. In practice, most UK homes run on a single-phase supply, which caps home charging at 7.4kW regardless of the cable or wallbox. For the majority of Ora 03 owners, a 7.4kW Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the right choice and delivers the full speed a standard home can offer.
A 22kW three-phase cable only makes a difference if your home has a three-phase supply or you regularly stop at 22kW public AC charge points. On those chargers the Ora 03 would pull its full 11kW. In all other situations the 22kW cable charges at the same speed as a 7.4kW one, so it is only worth the extra cost if three-phase access is genuinely part of your routine.
What does it cost to charge?
Charging the 63.1kWh Long Range battery from empty costs roughly £4.50 to £5 on an off-peak EV tariff of around 7.5p per kWh, and around £17 at a standard rate near 27p per kWh. The smaller 45.4kWh battery costs roughly £3 to £3.50 at off-peak rates. Home charging on a dedicated overnight tariff is comfortably cheaper than public rapid charging. Check current tariff rates, as they change.

Good
questions.

Contact usWhat charging cable does the Ora 03 (Funky Cat) need?+−
The Ora 03 (Funky Cat) has a Type 2 inlet, so it needs a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for UK home and public charging. It charges on up to three-phase AC at up to 11kW.
Can the Ora 03 (Funky Cat) charge at 22kW?+−
Yes, the Ora 03 (Funky Cat) has a three-phase onboard charger, so with a 22kW cable and a three-phase supply it can charge at up to 11kW.
What length charging cable should I get?+−
5m suits most home and public charge points. Choose 7.5m or 10m if the charge point is far from your car's charging port or you park on the far side of a bay.
Does the Ora 03 (Funky Cat) support V2L?+−
Yes. The Ora 03 (Funky Cat) supports vehicle-to-load (V2L), so a V2L discharge cable lets you run tools, appliances and devices straight from the battery through the Type 2 inlet, at up to 3.6kW.
What cable does the Ora 03 need for home charging?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Ora 03 has a standard Type 2 AC inlet and an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. On a typical UK single-phase home supply, a 7.4kW cable gives you the full available home charging rate. A 22kW three-phase cable is only worth considering if you have a three-phase supply.
Can the Ora 03 charge at 22kW?+−
No. The Ora 03's onboard AC charger is rated at up to 11kW. Even with a 22kW cable, the car will not draw more than 11kW. On a standard single-phase UK home the speed is capped at 7.4kW, so most owners see no difference between a 7.4kW and a 22kW cable at home.
How long does the Ora 03 take to charge at home?+−
On a 7.4kW single-phase wallbox, the 45.4kWh Standard Range takes around six hours from empty. The 63.1kWh Long Range takes around eight and a half hours. Both are well-suited to an overnight charge. DC rapid charging is faster but uses the charger's own cable at a public rapid station.
What length cable is best for the Ora 03?+−
A 5m cable covers most driveways comfortably. If your wallbox is positioned further back from where you normally park, or the port is on the far side of the car from the socket, a 7m cable gives more flexibility and avoids stretching the connection.
