Charge speeds
Across the Xpeng range.
Every Xpeng here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. AC charging tops out at 11kW across the range. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.
Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.
Charging guide
Charging
your Xpeng.
Xpeng's UK range consists of three battery electric models: the G6 SUV, G9 large SUV and P7 saloon. All three use a Type 2 inlet, so they all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging.
Every Xpeng has an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so the AC charging speed is consistent across the range. What decides the cable choice is your home supply, not the car. Pick your model below for its specific charge times and recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Xpeng need?
Every Xpeng uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and wallboxes; step up to 7m or 10m for on-street parking or a wallbox set back from where you park. No Xpeng needs a Type 1 cable.
The G6, G9 and P7 all have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. On a standard single-phase UK home supply, charging is capped at 7.4kW regardless of the cable, so a 7.4kW cable delivers the full speed your home can provide. A 22kW cable only adds benefit if you have a three-phase supply at home or regularly use 22kW public AC points, where all three Xpengs will pull their full 11kW.
In practice, a single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable is the right choice for home charging any Xpeng. If you regularly top up at 22kW AC public points, a 22kW rated cable is worth carrying in the car for those sessions.

Contact usDo all Xpengs use a Type 2 charging cable?+−
Yes. The Xpeng G6, G9 and P7 all use a Type 2 inlet, so they all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. No Xpeng needs a Type 1 cable.
What charging cable does an Xpeng G6 or P7 need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, 5m for most driveways. Both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase UK home supply they charge at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable covers this fully; a 22kW cable only helps at three-phase supplies or 22kW public AC points.
Can an Xpeng charge at 22kW?+−
No Xpeng charges at 22kW on AC. The maximum AC rate is 11kW, and only on a three-phase supply. On a standard single-phase UK home, every Xpeng charges at 7.4kW, so a 22kW cable offers no benefit at home.
Is the cable the same for all three Xpeng models?+−
Yes. The G6, G9 and P7 all use a Type 2 inlet and all have the same 11kW three-phase onboard charger, so the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable works for all three. The AC charging rate at home is also the same for all of them on a standard single-phase supply.
What length cable do I need for my Xpeng?+−
5m is enough for most home wallboxes and public charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m if you park on-street, share a charge point, or your wallbox is positioned away from the car's charging port. Buy the shortest length that comfortably reaches, as longer cables are heavier and cost more.
