Charge speeds
Across the Zeekr range.
Every Zeekr here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. AC charging tops out at 22kW across the range. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.
Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.
Charging guide
Charging
your Zeekr.
Zeekr's UK range consists of three fully electric models: the 001 grand tourer, the 7X SUV, and the compact X crossover. All three use a Type 2 inlet for AC charging, and all three share the same 22kW three-phase onboard AC charger, one of the highest AC charging ratings available in any car sold in the UK today.
Because all Zeekr models use the same connector and the same AC charger rating, the cable choice is consistent across the range. The main consideration is whether that 22kW capability is relevant to your home supply and your regular public charging habits. Pick your model below for full charge times and recommendations, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Zeekr need?
Every Zeekr uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length suits most home driveways and public charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m if you park on the street or your wallbox sits well away from the car. No Zeekr needs a Type 1 cable.
All three Zeekr models have a 22kW three-phase onboard AC charger, which is the highest AC rating in the digest. However, almost all UK homes are single-phase and supply a maximum of 7.4kW, so at home every Zeekr charges at 7.4kW regardless of what cable you use. A 22kW rated cable only unlocks the extra speed on a three-phase supply or at a 22kW public AC point, where the 001, 7X, and X can each pull their full 22kW.
For most Zeekr owners charging at home on a standard wallbox, a 7.4kW cable is perfectly adequate and the cheaper option. If you regularly use 22kW public AC charge points, or if you have or plan to install a three-phase supply, a 22kW rated cable is worth the upgrade. At 22kW a Zeekr 7X with its 100kWh battery would charge from 20 to 80 percent in around three hours.

Contact usDo all Zeekrs use a Type 2 charging cable?+−
Yes. The 001, 7X, and X all use a Type 2 inlet. They all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging, and no Zeekr needs a Type 1 cable. All three also share the same 22kW three-phase AC charging capability.
What charging cable does a Zeekr 001 or 7X need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Both have a 22kW three-phase onboard charger. On a standard single-phase UK home supply they charge at up to 7.4kW, so a 7.4kW cable gives the full home speed. Choose a 22kW rated cable if you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC points, where these cars can pull their full 22kW.
Can a Zeekr actually charge at 22kW?+−
Yes, all three Zeekr models have a 22kW three-phase onboard charger, which is genuinely one of the highest AC ratings available. But 22kW requires both a three-phase supply and a 22kW rated cable. Most UK homes are single-phase, capped at 7.4kW, so the 22kW capability is mainly useful at public AC charge points or properties with three-phase power.
Is a 22kW cable worth buying for a Zeekr?+−
It depends on where you charge. At home on a standard single-phase wallbox there is no benefit over a 7.4kW cable. If you regularly use 22kW public AC charge points, or if you have a three-phase supply at home or at work, a 22kW rated cable lets the Zeekr charge at its full AC speed and is worth the extra cost.
What length cable do I need for my Zeekr?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. Go for 7m or 10m if you park on the street, share a charger, or your wallbox sits away from the car. Longer cables cost more and are heavier to handle, so buy the shortest length that reaches comfortably.
