Charge speeds
Across the Skoda range.
Every Skoda here uses a Type 2 inlet, so one Type 2 to Type 2 cable fits the range. On-board AC charging ranges from about 3.6kW to 11kW depending on the model. A cable never charges faster than your car's on-board charger or your home supply allows, so on a standard single-phase UK home a 7.4 kW cable gives the full speed available.
Speeds are on-board AC limits. Rapid DC uses the station's own cable.

Charging guide
Charging
your Skoda.
Skoda's plug-in range spans the full-electric Citigo-e iV, Enyaq iV, Enyaq Coupe iV, Elroq, Epiq and Peaq, alongside the plug-in hybrid Octavia iV, Superb iV and Kodiaq iV. Every single one uses a Type 2 inlet, so they all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home and public AC charging. No Skoda on sale in the UK has ever used a Type 1 inlet.
Where the range differs is in how fast each model charges on AC. The BEV models and the Kodiaq iV PHEV have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, while the Octavia iV and Superb iV top out at 3.6kW. That difference decides whether a higher-rated cable earns its cost. Pick your model below for exact charge times and a recommended cable, or read the brand-wide guidance underneath.
What charging cable does a Skoda need?
Every Skoda EV and plug-in hybrid uses a Type 2 inlet, so the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2. A 5m length is right for most driveways and public charge points. Choose 7m or 10m if you park on the street, use a shared wallbox, or need to reach a charging port on the opposite side of the car from the socket.
The Enyaq iV, Enyaq Coupe iV, Elroq, Epiq, Peaq and Kodiaq iV all have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger. On a standard single-phase UK home supply, each of these charges at 7.4kW no matter what cable you use. A 22kW cable only adds value if you have a three-phase supply or regularly use 22kW public AC points, where these models will draw their full 11kW.
The Octavia iV and Superb iV plug-in hybrids charge at around 3.6kW on AC, and the older Citigo-e iV is also single-phase. For all of these a 7.4kW cable is already more than the car can draw, so there is no benefit in buying a larger one. In short, a single 5m 7.4kW Type 2 cable suits the whole Skoda plug-in range.

Contact usDo all Skodas use a Type 2 charging cable?+−
Yes. Every Skoda EV and plug-in hybrid sold in the UK uses a Type 2 inlet, from the Citigo-e iV to the Enyaq family and the iV hybrids. They all take the same Type 2 to Type 2 cable for AC charging. No Skoda needs a Type 1 cable.
What charging cable does a Skoda Enyaq need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, 5m for most driveways. The Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupe iV both have an 11kW three-phase onboard charger, but on a standard single-phase UK home they charge at 7.4kW. A 7.4kW cable delivers the full home speed. Only consider a 22kW cable if you have a three-phase supply or use 22kW public AC chargers regularly.
Can a Skoda charge at 22kW on AC?+−
No Skoda can charge at 22kW. The top AC rate across the range is 11kW, available on models like the Enyaq, Elroq and Kodiaq iV on a three-phase supply. On a typical single-phase UK home, every Skoda charges at 7.4kW or less. A 22kW cable will never deliver more than 11kW to any Skoda.
What cable does a Skoda Octavia iV or Superb iV PHEV need?+−
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Both charge at around 3.6kW on AC, so a 7.4kW cable is already above the maximum the car can use. Their smaller batteries can also charge fully overnight from a 3-pin granny charger if you prefer to keep the Type 2 cable for public charge points.
What length cable do I need for my Skoda?+−
5m suits most home wallboxes and public charge points. Step up to 7m or 10m for on-street parking, a wallbox that sits far from the car, or a shared charger on an estate. Longer cables weigh more and take more effort to coil, so buy the shortest length that reaches comfortably.
